Regency College of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management, a prestigious institution in the Southern country, marked the 30th anniversary with the grand celebration of the "Regency Christmas Gala" on December 6th. Distinguished principals and vice principals from the professional fraternity in the twin cities were honoured guests at this traditional event.

The Regency Christmas Gala unfolded as a captivating blend of culinary artistry and enchanting ambiance, promising an unforgettable dining experience for guests and Team Regency alike. Each meticulously plated dish, crafted as a masterpiece, not only delighted the eye but also tantalised the palate. The event aimed to showcase the culinary prowess and creativity of budding chefs, presenting a unique "7 INTERNATIONAL CUISINE DISPLAY" featuring 150 authentic recipes mentored by the chefs' team.

In traditional attire representing various countries, final-year students adorned themselves, presenting a splendid array of regional cuisines to enhance the festive celebration. The campus sparkled with stars, Christmas lights, and toys, showcasing the students' creative efforts. The lobby, adorned with a central Christmas tree, radiated festive charm, while Santa Claus paraded the campus, spreading cheer and distributing chocolates and toffees.

Regency College actively promotes cultural diversity and community building, fostering hands-on learning experiences for students. The final-year students, showcasing invaluable managerial and communication skills, have undoubtedly enhanced their preparedness for future career success.

"Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: Students Rally for Voting Awareness"

On November 25th, the Regency of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management one of the best colleges in Southern India, took an impactful move "2K Walk by Regents", aiming to create awareness among people and encourage them to cast their votes in the upcoming elections. It’s a spearheading initiative to promote the "Right to Vote" among students. During the walk, Regents covered several destinations, including Indradarshini Hotel, Care Banjara, Sakshi Office, and Taj Krishna Hotel. There was a tremendous response from the public and were enthused for the initiate taken by the students.

As the future torchbearers of our society, students recognize the pivotal role they play in shaping the destiny of the nation. However, this realization is often accompanied by the understanding that the power to effective change lies in their ability to cast informed votes during elections. The call for greater awareness and participation in the electoral process echoed through placards, banners, pamphlets, and catchy slogans designed to ignite a passion for democracy.

250 Students participated immensely. Regents did not merely walk for the sake of rallying; they rallied for the fundamental right to have their voices heard, counted, and acknowledged in the democratic process. Students were donned in chef uniforms, depicting unity among the industry, and were accompanied by the Regency Faculty. The rally focused on the idea that voting can be powerful, not only contributing to increased voter participation among young people but also fostering a sense of civic responsibility and activism.

Principal of the college Mr. P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy emphasized that, “The youth play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our nation. The objective of the rally is to educate voters, foster diverse communities, inspire peers, empower young people, grasp key issues, make wise decisions, and launch a robust social media campaign, utilizing hashtags like #YouthVotesMatter.” He also urged the youngsters not to waste the vote rather cast it wisely;as a vote decides 5 years of extensive ruling. 


RCCAHM, Hyderabad Visits Licious Meat Fabrication Unit

Regency consistently prioritizes the progress of its students in academics, extracurricular activities, and hands-on experiences. As part of this commitment, a field trip was organized for the budding chefs of the BCTCA 2nd semester to visit the "LICIOUS MEAT FABRICATION UNIT" near Medchal on 31st May 2023. Accompanied by Chef Rohith and Mr Sudheer, the students gained valuable insights into the culinary industry, specifically in menu planning, quality control, and food procurement.

The company's operations were presented by Mr. Srikanth (Human Resources) through a detailed presentation. Mr. Ravi then explained the proper storage of meat and seafood at the correct temperature, emphasizing the importance of hygiene when handling different types of meat. Mr. Ravi, a Licious associate, highlighted the stringent quality control procedures followed in meat processing plants to ensure food safety regulations are upheld.

Aim of the visit: The objective of the visit was to educate budding chefs about menu planning, kitchen management, and food safety measures.

The highlight of the tour: The tour comprised demonstrations and discussions that provided eye-opening moments for the students. They were exposed to various cuts of fish and meat, offering practical applications that complemented their classroom learning.

Tour outcomes: The visit encouraged budding chefs to expand their knowledge of meat cuts, cooking methods, and product options. Observing the various processing techniques used to transform raw meat into a variety of products inspired them to consider new menu items in the food and beverage outlets of hotels. Additionally, they gained knowledge about the usage of large machinery such as vacuum packers, fish cutters, weighing machines, and metal detectors. They also witnessed the facility's procedures for handling and examining raw materials, ensuring safety measures and maintaining good hygiene. Regency College of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management conducted a grand Continental Breakfast Buffet at its premises on 15.04.2023. 

The theme of the English Buffet: As currently IPL is bombarding nationwide, RPL (Regency Premier League) supports IPL and organized a “REGENCY BREAKFAST LEAGUE” at a college campus. The Seminar hall has given the panorama of a cricket stadium with picturesque arenas where the recipes has ever seen showcased a welcoming vibe. The ambience was beautified with the huge magnificent Butter Carvings weighing 100kgs sculptured into aquatic animals such as Fish, Flaming, Statue of a man, Pastillage Art Cakes, Salt Dough Fruit Basket, vegetables carvings and many more.

The Case for the Power Breakfast: The College is a gate way for the students to think and present in a unique way. The event enhanced the students to develop Communication skills, Leadership skills, Team building, Collaboration and Culinary skills required in a food-service industry. It aims to foster the culinary terms and the exchange culture of different regions globally which included Confectionery, Hot buffet, Cold Buffet and Live counter with varieties of about 100 recipes. The event has given an opportunity to sustain academia and industry interface with a plethora of students’ skillset tasted the huge success.

The flagship of the event: To upgrade Culinary Skills, Budding Chefs underwent rigorous training under the mentorship of enormous international experience faculty to meet the fine and intricate international standards in Hospitality Industry. 60 budding chefs were grouped into 4 categories, each group was divided into Confectionery products, Hot buffet, Cold buffet and Live counter. 

Spotlight of the event: Ms. Gongadi Trisha, “The Best Batswomen of Indian Cricket Team under 19 - T20 World Cup 2022 was the Chief Guest for the event". She was mesmerized to relish the recipes and astonished to witness unique pieces of the display and asserted that such events create a learning scope for budding hoteliers. Principal of Regency Mr. P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy was delighted to felicitate Ms. Gongadi Trisha who made Telangana proud by playing against England becoming the first country to win the tournament.

Eventually principal of Regency Mr. P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy acclaimed that the hotel industry is a yardstick for budding hoteliers who aspired to learn Hotel Management courses. Management always fosters students’ not only to intricate in academics but also diversify in co-curricular & extracurricular activities by organizing guest lectures, workshops, events, competitions, sports etc thereby honing the students’ physical and mental skill sets. On 24th and 25th of March 2023 Regents of 2nd semester BCT&CA took privilege to serve the breakfast delicacies to Team Regency. 

The set up was South Indian Team with an aesthetic decoration included fresh banana leaves, garlands of mango leaves inserted with marigold flowers. North Indian Team has represented elegant hanging mini bamboo baskets and lights which gave a rustic view to the display. 

Faculty grooms regents in an environment of intensive service oriented and skill based activities. Teams have developed managerial skills, liaise with team members, interpersonal skills and time management. Regents dressed up with beautiful attire which represented the culture & tradition of North and South India. The food fest began with welcome drinks and refreshments like ‘Mocktails and Panakam’. Students prepared around 30 different recipes from each south and north regional food.

 The chef's team was immensely satisfied with the display and appreciated all the students for the efforts made in arranging an appetizing breakfast buffet. The principal of regency college Mr.P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy shared all merits of conducting such extra-curricular activities in college and gave a motivational speech regarding how teamwork can bring excellence in the hotel industry.

To give a happy ending to the event and make it more memorable, all the regents captured a group picture along with Mr.P.Ramesh Kumar Reddy (Principal Of Regency College), Mrs.K.V. FRESHER’S DELIGHT 2022-23

The seniors of Regency College of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management organized a warm welcoming party for Fresher’s at Taj Banjara Hotel on 8th of December’ 2022. The importance of Fresher’s Day is gathering and welcoming of the Freshers: a kind of interaction between the seniors and juniors. Seniors welcomed fresher’s from the core of their hearts. The juniors were overwhelmed by such a warm and lovely welcome extended to them by the seniors. The event started with high-octane dose of dance performance to welcome everyone and turned the environment energetic.

Theme: The beauty of the ambience enriched with white and gold balloons which signified peace, enthusiasm and cherishment. It depicted brightness and prosperity and also a great future to the Fresher’s. 

Leveraging the Party: The principal addressed youngsters to utilize the resources equipped with smart class rooms, advanced kitchen labs and library, so they turn out to be great personalities in the future. He also added students to be dedicated, concentrated hardworking, confident and passionate for their targets. He inspired the students to reach the top by carving and shaping their inner abilities and capabilities.

Hip Hop Party: Keeping in sync with all the seniors were seen in blazers and traditional attire, where juniors in casuals. The energetic and enthusiastic emcees rocked the event with their timely and chirpy one liner. The seniors performed dances of varying styles from Bollywood to hip hop. The melodious songs sung by a few provided a breather from high energy dances. Little lilting music and the chunk of ice, new faces , smiles all along resounding laughter- yes it is party time.

Nourishments @ Taj Banjara: An exotic lavish buffet added fuel to the burning fire and indeed increased the adrenalin rush in the post noon continuation of the event, which included Hyderabadi Biryani, authentic sweets and savories.

The modeling contest was the biggest attraction for the audience. The contest happened in 3 phases (ramp walk, introduction round and the question round). A total of 160 students participated in the contest and the fresh entrants participated in different games like crazy poses, guessing the song, copy cat , dog in the bone, burst the balloon and dumb charades were thoroughly enjoyed and the juniors were given souvenir as a token of love and remembrance.

Ramesh Kumar Reddy said that these kinds of festival celebrations are encouraged to bring togetherness, passion of creativity, team building spirit, learning and honing hospitality traits, which are necessary for the students and creates employment opportunities, make them emerge as aspiring professionals. 

Fresher’s walked out of the venue with a huge smile on their faces. They were sheered with joy and beautiful memories of the event.

‘CAKE MIXING DONATIONS MARK THE CHRISTMAS SEASON’

A 28 years old renowned institution affiliated to Osmania University and also well known to encourage students into co curricular and extracurricular activities HOSTED CHRISTMAS FRUIT MIXING at TAJ BANJARA, Hyderabad on 8th December'2022. 

Cake Mixing is a ritual performed to welcome HAPPINESS and PROSPERITY. 

History Behind Fruit Mixing -The ceremony heralds the festive season of Christmas and captures the spirit of New Year. During this ceremony, the chefs, all the executives and sometimes even celebrity guests participate in this ritual tirelessly. The more to mix, the merrier the feast!

About the Culture and Tradition of Fruit Mixing - Team Regency organized the fruit Mixing, an interesting array of fruits (raisins, glazed red cherries, orange peel, tutti-frutti, black currants, dates, dried apricots, figs and prunes), nuts (walnuts, cashew, almond flakes and pistachio) and spices (ground cardamom, cinnamon and cloves) went into a huge cauldron. Endless bottles of spirits and syrups like golden syrup, molasses, honey and vanilla essence were poured into the mix while a number of masked faces with gloved hands kneaded the concoction. The fruit mixing ceremony is a community event. The entire banquet Hall was decked in Christmas Theme. 

Theme: There were 15 different varieties of dry fruits, raisins, almonds, cashews, walnuts, candied ginger, prunes tutti fruity and glazed cherries were arranged in an exquisite style to soak the fruits in and were mixed joyfully for exotic dough preparation. 50 girls of regency from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year were invited to signify and celebrate the women power, independence, confidence, and strength. They were in a joyous mood to celebrate the event of joy and merry.

Decor: White and gold balloons used in hall depict joyfulness and the onset of Christmas & New Year. The entire arrangement and theme of the event focused on Edible, Healthy and Organic Ingredients. Hall was decorated with lights, stars and cribs as team regency come together to celebrate the event. Miniature forms of Santa Claus, Christmas Trees, and Bells were made and displayed. A Fostered effect of winter was seen everywhere. 

The event is celebrated with a lot of joy and happiness. Every year, regency involves in fruit mixing ceremony in the presence of galaxy of stars & celebrities. The highlight of the event was when Santa Claus arrives and joins the group dancing merrily with the sounds of jingle bells, jingle bells….. There is no limit to joy. Happiness has no end. The joy of man is the joy of God.

The Budding 1st Year Culinary Students were the winning contestants from Regency College of Culinary Arts & HM Khairtabad, Hyderabad.

Telangana which is a very young formed state and has gained its prominence in various fields of development among other states of India. It's one of the most promising state to its people and students pursuing professional courses like Hotel Management & Culinary arts, the Government and Department of Tourism of the State and country encourage students from our college Regency College of Culinary arts established in 1994 (28Yrs) affiliated to Osmania University continued its winning streak the ALL INDIA LEVEL prestigious CHEF CHAMP – a inter college competition conducted by APCA with a motto to recognize the Culinary & Pastry skills of students from various Culinary Arts colleges across India to achieve excellence in Culinary Art, Pastry Art, Food Preparation and Presentation. 

Students competed in AMUSE-BOUCHE APPETIZER, DESERT,MAIN COURSE & PLATED PREPARATION & PRESENTATION contestants from 15 BEST Institutes of Hotel Management colleges across the nation participated in this competition and only two colleges from Telangana among all REGENCY STOOD at First Position in the ALL THE CATERGORIES & ALSO WINNING THE OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY.

The Management of Regency college extends its gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and Board of Studies of Osmania University for continuously support the college and helping the students to be recognized Hotel Management graduated across the world. A team of 10 students FIRST YEAR Hotel Management & Culinary Arts, accompanied by 2 faculty members travelled to BENGULURU to display their exceptional Pastry skills. 

CULINARY CHAMPIONS: The competition winners who bagged to finals used almost 25 – 30 ingredients on cold and hot kitchens respectably. Though there was a tough competition with final year students of pan India, regents of 1st year hadn’t step back and its proud moment to say “yes, we won the trophy”. 

The venue was abuzz with excitement and competitive spirit. Regency College students bagged 1st position WINNING Gold Medals & the Overall Trophy in all amongst the participated colleges Regency students clean swept all the prizes FOR ALL THE 3 CATERGORIES OF PLATED DESERT, in the country and also in state Telangana all the products displayed by the students of Regency were applauded by the Judges at the competition.

The products displayed by students of Regency steeled the entire show, the regents did exceptional plate presentations, uniqueness, creativity, portion size, product taste and Sanitation practices, judges were over whelmed with the student’s talent parade. They appreciated regency to be one of the best college of Culinary Arts in India and also state Telngana.

GOURMET APPRAISAL: Dishes were judged on the basis of creativity, hygiene, taste, texture and appearance by esteemed judges Mrs. Shreya Gupta (Centre Head, APCA), Chef Raghu (Executive Pastry Chef, APCA) and Chef Jagadish (Executive Culinary Chef, APCA). They interacted with the budding chefs to find out the ingredients of the recipes, nutritional value and historical significance of the dishes prepared by them. Judges were overwhelmed by the set up, plating and theme “DIVYA DAWATH” presented by the participants.

Regency is one the best college which is always in forefront winning many NATIONAL LEVEL COMPTETIONS IN PAST 28 YEARS. The alumni passing out from this college are holding topnotch positions as General Managers, Executive Chefs, HOD's with best International Brands of Hotels.
