What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Passion to educate youths and satisfaction I get after this”

Personally for me, Grooming and Developing Budding Hospitality Professionals in IAM Kolkata, for the future is the key factor that still connects me to the education sector and it gives a complete satisfaction to me when students get a good job in reputed organizations. Apart from all these being associated with this leading institute IAM Kolkata is a privilege in itself.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“I believe in teamwork and growth of everyone”

In my opinion, leadership is always about leading from the front by setting examples and building foundation on honest intentions. Describing my own leadership style is a difficult task. Generally, I engage everyone for suggestions and criticism while making decisions, be it for university or for students.

How do you strategize the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your institution?

“By keeping us updated with the current industry demands”

In IAM Kolkata, the key plan is to keep up to date with Industry needs by adopting flexibility to better equip our students for the industry who will eventually be a huge brand ambassador for IAM Kolkata in the Global Market.

When you first came to IAM Kolkata what was your vision for the institution?

“To do everything to fulfill institute vision and mission”

My personal vision was the vision of IAM Kolkata with which it started its journey and that is to provide world class education and training in hospitality management by constantly innovating and improving upon the discipline, through state of the art methods of training, meaningful research and close relations with the Industry, business and other institutions of India and abroad. IAM Kolkata has definitely evolved over the years, in terms of curriculum, international placements and adapting to the industry specially post pandemic.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Practical implementation of learned knowledge”

Students nowadays are more used to learning by doing rather than just watching and mugging up knowledge which is provided to them. Higher education needs a little more hands-on. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Always keep a learning attitude and be focused”

Only one suggestion, and that is stay focused, learn to love what you do and be prepared to work hard for the first few years of your career. Here in IAM Kolkata we are constantly building the mindset of our students to be better prepared for the future industry.
