What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute that will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We have recently launched some new programs at our institute to address the changing needs of students and the industry. Starting this year, “we have commenced offering programs such as the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)”. Moreover, acknowledging the significance of technology in the modern era, we have started a fresh batch of Computer Science Engineering. The design of these programs is centered on empowering our students with a distinct advantage in today’s competitive job market. Given the growing importance of computer applications and expertise in business administration, these courses offer our students a comprehensive education that aligns with current industry trends while also furnishing them with adaptable skills. By offering these latest programs, we aim to ensure that our students not only outperform their peers but also stand apart from the crowd in a highly competitive landscape.”

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Our program is crafted with utmost care to not only prepare students academically but also to equip them for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. We closely adhere to AICTE’s curriculum and align with Jharkhand Technical University’s guidelines. This commitment ensures our students receive a practical education meeting industry standards. In addition to the core curriculum, “we offer specialized courses aimed at enhancing our students’ personal and professional development. The inclusion of these personality development courses holds a vital place in our program, as they equip students with crucial skills. By integrating these courses into our curriculum, we ensure that our students are equipped with effective communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the confidence needed to excel in their future endeavors.” To further support our student’s growth, we provide extra learning prospects in the evening from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. During this time, “we focus on enhancing communication skills, conducting mock interviews, and enhancing overall personality traits. By offering these extended sessions, we aim to empower our students to confidently clear the challenges of interviews and interpersonal interactions.”

What is the admission procedure to take admission in this college?

The admission procedure for our college follows a structured process to ensure a fair and transparent selection of candidates. “To seek admission, students are required to participate in the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE), which is conducted by the state government annually. This examination serves as the initial step in the admission Process.” Upon successfully qualifying for the JCECE, students proceed to the subsequent stages of the admission process. This includes a Personal Interview (PI) and a counseling round. These stages play a crucial role in the selection of candidates and determining their eligibility for admission. It is important to note that our admission process encompasses both direct admission and admission through the JCECE examination. “Specifically, 20% of the available seats are designated for direct admission, while the remaining 80% of seats are reserved for students who have appeared and successfully qualified in the JCECE exam.” By maintaining a structured and fair admission process that combines academic assessment and personal interaction, we ensure that students with diverse abilities and aspirations have the opportunity to join our institution and embark on their educational journey.

What types of projects are the students working on through this program?

Our students are currently involved in a wide range of exciting projects. This year, in line with our ongoing dedication to promoting sustainability and technological progress, “we have introduced a special project centered around Electric Vehicles (EVs) for our final-year students in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments.” “The Electric Vehicle project aligns with the growing importance of sustainable transportation solutions in today’s world. By working on these projects, students not only get a deeper understanding of cutting-edge technologies but also contribute to addressing the global challenge of sustainable mobility.” This hands-on experience with Electric Vehicle projects equips our students with practical skills that are highly relevant to the evolving needs of the automotive industry. Moreover, these projects encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation, fostering a learning environment that extends beyond traditional classroom settings. “Our focus on Electric Vehicle projects reflects our commitment to offering students opportunities to work on projects that have real-world impact and relevance. These projects not only enhance their technical skills but also imbed in them a sense of responsibility towards creating a sustainable future.”

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students that help them gain the necessary skills? What are the types of courses this college offers?

The department is committed to equipping students with essential skills through a variety of best practices that ensure holistic learning and practical exposure. “We offer a combination of theoretical and practical classes to provide a comprehensive understanding of subjects.” However, beyond the classroom, our emphasis extends to fostering a deeper connection between academia and real-world applications. One such practice is our frequent industrial visits, which are organized for students every semester. These visits are tailored to each department, enabling students to witness firsthand the operations of industries relevant to their field of study. This approach serves a dual purpose: “Students gain theoretical knowledge in the classroom and then witness its practical implementation during these visits. This not only enhances their understanding but also helps them correlate the subjects they study with actual industry practices.” Furthermore, it’s important to highlight the diverse range of courses we offer. In the Polytechnic courses, we provide Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering. Additionally, we offer graduation courses such as BCA and BBA, which expand students’ horizons and provide them with a broader skill set. In summary, “our best practices revolve around a balanced approach of theoretical and practical learning, enriched by industrial visits, and supported by a variety of courses that cater to both Polytechnic and Graduation levels. These practices ensure that our students are not only well-equipped with knowledge but also possess the necessary skills to excel in their chosen fields.”

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Indeed, fostering positive relationships with both students and fellow faculty members is integral to creating a conducive learning environment and maintaining a reputable institution. At Baharagora Polytechnic College, “we employ a structured approach to establish healthy connections within our community.” To ensure students’ well-being and academic progress, we have implemented a proctor system mentoring program. Through this initiative, “every group of 25 students is assigned a dedicated mentor. These mentors take on the responsibility of addressing students’ concerns, both on a personal and academic level. This personalized support system ensures that students have a reliable point of contact for any challenges they might face. Moreover, mentors maintain communication with students’ parents, facilitating a holistic approach to their development.” Building rapport with fellow faculty members is equally crucial. “We encourage a collaborative atmosphere where ideas and expertise can be shared freely. Regular meetings, workshops, and open discussions are organized to facilitate healthy interactions among the faculty members.” This collective exchange of insights benefits not only individual faculty but also enhances the overall quality of education provided to the students. In summary, “our approach involves a well-structured mentoring program for students and a culture of collaboration among the faculty. By nurturing these relationships, we create an environment where all members of the college community can thrive and contribute to the growth and success of the institution.”

How does the department/ college/University enhance the skills of the faculty and prepare them according to the industry standards?

Ensuring our faculty remains updated and aligned with industry standards is a priority for us at Baharagora Polytechnic College. We have established various measures to enhance the skills of our faculty members, equipping them to effectively impart knowledge that resonates with contemporary industry requirements. “One of our prominent strategies involves inviting industrial experts to conduct seminars on relevant topics, particularly industry trends like Industry 4.0. These seminars offer valuable insights and perspectives, bridging the gap between academia and the rapidly evolving industrial landscape. It enriches our faculty’s knowledge and provides them with the latest industry practices to incorporate into their teaching.” Additionally, “we organize one-day industrial development programs that directly benefit students and faculty. This interactive platform facilitates direct discussions between industry experts, students, and faculty members, fostering an exchange of ideas and perspectives.” This approach ensures that our faculty remains well-informed about the current industry standards and can align their teaching methodologies accordingly. Furthermore, in line with the initiatives of AICTE, “we are actively engaged in the institute and industry collaboration program. Through this endeavor, we are working towards establishing strong connections with industries, and facilitating mutual learning and collaboration.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Absolutely, my advice to the current youth and aspiring students is to approach their aspirations with determination and a well-defined plan. “Dreams are achieved by breaking them down into smaller, manageable goals and targets. Identifying your area of interest is crucial; once you’ve found your passion, pursue it with unwavering dedication.” It’s essential not to succumb to external pressures or expectations. Your path is uniquely yours, and it’s important to make choices that align with your passions and ambitions. Dare to chase your dreams and take the necessary steps to turn them into reality. Confidence in your abilities is the key; believe in yourself and your potential to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.” Remember, “success doesn’t come overnight. It’s a result of consistent effort, perseverance, and learning from both successes and setbacks. With determination, a clear vision, and self-belief, you have the power to realize your dreams and make a meaningful impact in your chosen field.”
