As a dean, I am responsible for ensuring that the examination process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner and for maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

I interact  with faculty and students every week or once every 10 days. We have healthy discussions and take feedback on any issues they might have. I invite their suggestions to the meeting and after interaction with them, any necessary suggestions and information are given to them and a healthy relationship is maintained.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

By conducting industrial visits within the state and outside the state and allowing students to go for summer internships, practical exposure is given to every student. By taking feedback from students, parents, alumni, and industry, we try to incorporate the content that is missing in laboratory experiments. We are arranging many more seminars and guest lectures from industry people. We are concentrating on professional development activities for students, innovation, start-ups etc.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students that help them gain necessary skills?

We are continuously motivating and guiding students to write GATE, GRE, and PGCET exams so that they can go for higher education in India and abroad. Our students get the required placement training from industry experts and also from our on-campus training division. So many of our students are able to qualify for TOEFL/GRE/IELTS and have joined most of the reputed international institutions. Almost every year, we are getting 90% placement and 10% are going for higher education.

How do you help your student cope with the competition being so high in the outside world?

We are continuously motivating students to improve their technical and communication skills so that they can get jobs in their final year through on campus interviews. To cover up the gap. we are arranging guest lectures with eminent people, conducting technical competitions, and also letting students attend workshops.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

Our students are encouraged to participate in all types of outdoor sports activities, like cricket, volleyball  and also indoor games. They are also encouraged to participate in NSS activities. Every year, we conduct an internal technical event called VEDA in the month of September at the national level. Additionally, we are encouraging our students to participate in activities conducted outside the college as well.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

We have a lack of adequate resources, such as qualified teachers, modern teaching materials, and infrastructure, which can hinder the quality of education. We need to seek additional funding or resources to address this issue. We need to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date to meet the needs of students and the job market. We regularly review and update course materials and teaching methods. We also provide continuous training and professional development opportunities for teachers, which is crucial. For this, teachers should be equipped with the latest teaching methodologies and technology to engage students effectively. In today's digital age, access to technology is essential for quality education. Ensure that students have access to computers, the internet, and relevant software or online resources for their studies.
