Er. Raghav Gupta has been working as the Director and is also the Owner of Golden College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur, Punjab. He has done M.Tech from the United state of America as part of his academics. He holds a total experience of 7 years in the education sector and has been working for the welfare of the students quite successfully.

Being the Director of the institute, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

I believe that students are our real stakeholders, hence we all are working day and night for their betterment and give them a bright future to live. And being the Director of the institute, it's my prime responsibility to ensure that my students receive the finest quality education and employable friendly environment in the college. Apart from all this, we have recently introduced a feedback system to get recommendation and inputs from students from time to time so that we can provide them with the best resources and opportunities to learn and grow on both personal and professional fronts. 

In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges that higher education institutions are currently facing?

In my viewpoint, the biggest challenge which higher education institutions are facing nowadays is providing world-class higher education to our ambitious youths and students at an affordable fee. In addition to this, improving the research facilities and quality and increasing industry-academia collaborations to offer better employment opportunities to students are other two roadblocks that they need to address and resolve on the earliest basis. Hence, seeing the hurdles they are confronting, there is an urgent need to redraft the present education sector and system in which the recently introduced National National Education Policy will act as a ray of hope for institutions. 

What is your philosophy of leadership?

I believe in a collaborative and participative style of working and leading people, because this kind of leadership allows me and my team to collectively take up tasks as per our knowledge and experience and implement ideas to reach a mission. Also, in my opinion, influential decentralization of the power system is very essential for effective decision making and growth of an institution and its people.

How do you strategize the key programs for enhancing the reach of your college to students?

In my opinion, the only way to survive in this cut throat competitive world is that one must have to prioritize their programs and depute the right team to execute a work plan. Also, we all know that we are living in a marketing society where everyone is looking for a brand. 

And if I talk about my strategies, I along with my team, we make best use of digital and social media to stay connected with our current and future potential students and let the outer world know about our achievements and programs. But one thing which I would like to highlight here is that we as an educational institution should not forget the quality assurance to the society and try our best every time to remain the talk of the town.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

As we all know that education is the primary and probably the most important need of a society for its growth and being attached to it is actually a huge inspiration for me. Because as a Teacher or the Director of an institution, it gives us the privilege to transform people's lives and make them responsible citizens and employable human resources. Apart from this, the education sector also allows us to make young minds capable of dealing with worldly matters. And all these factors together I believe have helped me to stay connected with the education sector.

Any valuable suggestions which you would like to give to the aspiring students?

I would advise my dear and aspiring students to not take education and career for granted and don't let any opportunity go to waste. Instead, see every challenge as an opportunity and make best use of it and it would be best if you tapped your potential to be the best human being possible in which education plays a cardinal role. And it's a universal fact that educated youths are very crucial to uplift the weaker sections of society and our wonderful nation as a whole.
