In your 19 years of work experience, what would you say is the special approach that MLRIT follows in terms of giving a good learning experience to students?

In my 19 years of work experience at MLRIT, we have prioritised a holistic approach to education. Our key principles include numerous factors. We have a student-centric focus where we put students at the center of all our activities, catering to their academic, personal, professional, and athletic development needs. Our faculty is well-qualified and actively engaged in research while also fostering a culture of sports and physical fitness. We also emphasize practical learning through projects, internships, real-world problem-solving, and a strong focus on sports. The institute also encourages innovation and research among students and faculty, including sports-related research.

How do you balance the needs of faculty, students, and administration as a Principal of MLRIT College?

Achieving a balance between everyone in the institute involves active communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. If everyone feels included and valued, they will be able to contribute and do their part for the institute. We ensure that our approach integrates sports into the student experience, enhancing their overall development. I try to always be available and patiently listen to the faculty, staff and student’s woes.

MLRIT stands out in several ways, including its strong emphasis on sports. We have established deep-rooted ties with industry leaders for internships, live projects, and placements, and we also provide opportunities in sports-related industries. We encourage sports-related research and innovation, contributing to the development of sports science and technology. Maintaining strong industry relationships in sports is vital to our institution's success. We do this through collaborations with sports companies, teams, and organisations to provide students with real-world sports experiences. We believe in the active involvement of our career services and placement cells in the sports industry, connecting students with sports-related opportunities. Additionally, we engage our alumni network with connections in the sports world.

What are the biggest challenges currently facing Engineering colleges, and how do you plan to address them as a Principal?

Some of our recent major challenges have been trying to adapt to rapid technological changes. Mere education is not enough. We also want to ensure the employability of graduates. To teach these students, we want to attract and retain quality faculty. Promoting sports and physical fitness is an overarching goal for us too. To address these challenges, we continually update our curriculum, provide faculty development, strengthen our career services, and invest in technology and infrastructure while also prioritising sports development.

I wish to strengthen our industry and sports partnerships to provide even more promising placement opportunities for our students. We will also look into expanding our academic and sports programs to cater to emerging fields and talents, promoting all-around development.
