Mr. Gopikrishna Panda has been working as the Head of MCA Department at Srusti Academy of Management, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. He has done ME in CSE from Utkal University of VaniVihar followed by courses funded by the Govt. of India, UGC, DIT and MCIT etc.

In addition to this, he has done Pre-Doctoral Training Program in the Biomedical Lab, Department of Electrical Engineering in Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore. He has also submitted PhD research at Sri Sri University of Cuttack and published 13 research papers in various National and International journals of repute, indexed in Scopus and Springer. Apart from this, he is specialized in the area of Data Science & Cloud Computing.

Being the Head of MCA Department at Srusti Academy, what are your key responsibilities towards students?

As the Head of MCA Department, my key responsibility is to lead, manage and develop our department and supervise its activities. In addition to this, providing excellent skills enhancement training programs to them for their overall personal and professional development is also part of my job. Also, overseeing the academic progress of our students, ensuring their well-being and establishing, implementing, monitoring and coordinating the department's assessment and evaluation processes in accordance with the framework of College policies and procedures also comes under the scope of my work.

How does your college prepare students for the competitive industrial world?

Our institution regularly organizes meetings with industry experts to get the latest knowledge and insights about their trends, developments and requirements and then impart the same to our students back in the classroom. In addition to this, we have signed MOUs with leading organizations for arranging industrial training and internships for our students so that they can interact with people who are well-established in the field, work on amazing projects and innovate solutions for real-world problems by utilizing their classroom knowledge in the best way possible. And this partnership also allows us to prepare them to easily transition in the outside competitive world.

Which extra-curricular activities are organized by your college to enhance the skills of students?

For the purpose of enhancing the skills of students and teaching them important concepts of management and IT, we regularly organize an extensive range of co-curricular activities such as seminars, technical and non-technical competitions followed by indoor and outdoor training programs etc. Apart from this, students are encouraged to actively participate in industrial events and international conferences. Last but not the least, we have debate sessions, case study competitions and cultural events for them and we even conduct festivals enthusiastically.

What kinds of projects and research opportunities does your department offer to students?

Before successfully finishing their MCA Degree, it is mandatory for students to complete numerous industry-oriented research projects. And we provide them complete support and guidance in collaboration with industry mentors. We also have in-house faculty guides to assist students with their assignments and state-of-the-art laboratories where they can put their knowledge into practice.

How pursuing an MCA course from your college can be beneficial for students?

Students after successfully finishing the MCA course from our Srusti Academy of Management will have comprehensive knowledge about the subject of computer application and key programming languages such as Python and C++, both of which are in high demand in industry. And if we talk about the employment opportunities, they can find lucrative jobs in IT industries and work as a Program Developer or Business Analyst. Last but not the least, they can go for conducting research in a specific field.
