What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

At PVKKIT, our program is Mechanical Engineering. Our specialty is giving practical knowledge to students in academia with theoretical knowledge. Our team inculcates the students’ to-do live projects, which is a part of the curriculum as well. These aspects of our program are important to gain practical knowledge and to implement their bookish knowledge. That is the tremendous strength of our program in PVKKIT.

What are the best practices in the program you are doing?

Our program inculcates the students in trending core software’s and with latest user interface techniques to teach students at our college. We highly encourage research and as a result, we have a more number of Ph.D holders in our college. These individuals are bringing laurels to our college by working on new innovations like e-vehicles and non-polluting vehicles. Our program already fabricated five innovative working models, which add essence to the program. These are the best practices in our program.

What were the challenges that you faced while implementing this program in your curriculum?

Our biggest challenge is the background of our students. Many of our students are from rural areas and lack of communication skills. Program need to pay special attention to them, by providing extra classes in communication with practical sessions. Program tries to orient students on Industry needs in real time. At the end of their course, students are theoretically and practically fitted to work in multinational industries and finally they were ready to face interviews of placements.

How do you tend to build an industry connected program?

To build industry connections, we have industrial visits and mandatory internships for the students. Program organizes number of industrial summits to gain industrial knowledge in real time. These events are invaluable to the students, as there are professionals from various backgrounds will gather at one place and students will get chance to interact with industry experts. They also understand the gap between their theoretical knowledge and the skills needed at the workplace. Program enhances students to have full-fledged knowledge, so that they can choose which industry to work.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

The present trend is moving on CSE based jobs. But, there are lot of opportunities for Mechanical Engineering domain in public and private sector. Our program focuses more on the core sector jobs. More opportunities are in Maharatnas, Miniratnas Navaratnas and in MNC’s PVT.Ltd. In the public sector, there are jobs such as brake inspectors, RTOs and RRBs. There will be more opportunities in core oriented softwares like LS-DYNA, Pro-E, ANSYS and Hypermesh.

How does the program ensure that the students are being trained? How do we prepare for the future?

Occasionally, we plan for workshops, training programs and technical symposiums. For these events, we invite individuals, who are well-settled in their careers to share their views and opinions about the industry. Our program invites experts from not only the private sector but from the public sector as well. By experts talk, students can understand, what is present scenario is going on around the globe of Mechanical Engineering and the students are able to know what to do and what not to do. Finally, students are capable to decide the present trend in the domain of the program and they build up their skills for success in the future.

What are the types of projects the students are working on this program?

Our students usually choose working model projects and they wish to work on heart fully. They choose the projects, so that, their career goals and aspirations may fulfill. Some of the projects that our students have worked on using software like Hyper-mesh, LS Dyna. Pro E, and ANSYS. The program insists the students to work on 3D modeling, where different prototypes are created. After modelling, the projects are sent to create a prototype and finally product is fabricated. Program also insists the students to use NPTEL courses and internships to help in this regard. They use the knowledge gained theoretically in due program and inculcate their knowledge practically to get better output in the form fabulous projects.
