Dr. Santosh Kumar Patra is presently serving as the Principal at St. Martins Engineering College, Hyderabad. Honoured with many prestigious national awards and IBAE International Award, Dubai, he has the highest amount of consultancy and industry sponsored projects. He has published 30 patents, 18 books, and more than 88 international and national research papers, and has 16 magazine articles and 138 news coverage. Moreover, he is an active member of ISTE, CSI, IAENG (Canada), MASPRS (USA), and many other professional bodies.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Working continuously with dedication and values”

Education is the only field to create any other field. It’s not just about teaching but it is all about knowledge creation. As an Educational Administrator, I have been able to connect and communicate with all the departments and all the stakeholders. I believe that the first key factor is ‘the optimistic attitude’. It has motivated me to envision the glory of institutions. The other key factors are ‘commitment’ and ‘hard work’. If you respect your profession, value it and be committed, it will offer you everything which you need and which you do not know that they are required for you. Commitment results in the best output.

In this globalized context, we have upgraded and combined all the best practices as per the global necessities. St. Martin’s Engineering College is a UGC autonomous institute; we have various teaching platforms to reach out for our services. We have also been conducting many technical club activities, webinars, FDPs, workshops and conferences apart from the regular classwork to enhance the skills set of students. The curriculum of St. Martin’s Engineering College ensures the guarantee of students’ career with its solid foundation. We design the best curriculum that emphasises on skills set combining soft skills, aptitude and coding skills. Technical seminars, Micro Projects, Robotics and TAM (Technical Awareness Month) permit students to develop their innovative skills. We are also starting three new B.Tech programs from the academic year 2021-22, namely Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, CSE- AI & ML, Computer Science and Design.
