What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Make students enthusiastic in their studies and evaluate their knowledge level regularly”

As a teacher, my main responsibility towards students is to provide tutoring and academic counseling to students and assign them coursework. Develop a methodology to educate students about the topic (problem-solving, small group discussions, etc.) and then implement the same in the classroom. Moreover, solving students’ difficulties related to academics and personal life is also one of the main responsibilities. Besides this, keeping a secure record of each student's results, both electronically and in hard copy.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“By providing students an environment of Home away from Home”

The students are asked to introduce their culture or represent themselves by doing some activity of their interest. The students take part in ‘Show-and-Tell’, and for memory, a picture of them is snapped. The pictures are posted on the class bulletin board for the year. The students love seeing this because they realize that their growth and development are not only physical but intellectual and emotional as well.

How do you make subjects industry-oriented?

“By engaging students in technology-oriented projects and provide them practical learning”

There are various things we can implement for making subjects study-oriented such as problem-solving, conceptual understanding, and communication skills, and students can develop these skills when they are engaged in technology-based projects. For this, many technology-based approaches offer opportunities for students to create content that may be shared within the classroom, throughout schools, and on online learning platforms and LMS (Learning Management Systems).

What are the best practices offered by your department to the students?

“To provide more practical opportunities to the students for facing the real world”

The students are connected to real-world applications and provided with hands-on activities. The department also facilitates group discussion activities and opportunities to be a mentor and to act as peer teachers. After getting involved in these practices, the students become ready to face the real world.

How does your department prepare students for higher education?

“By making them job-ready with the collaborations of other organizations”

Our department focuses on improving teaching skills that can be transferred to the teaching environment. The students are introduced to real-life problems which help them in getting the necessary experience. The collaborative approach with other organizations supports the commitment to transform students into job-ready individuals who are able to quickly adjust to the business environment. The other important thing is to equip graduates with the practical skills to be ready to enter into the work environment is essential for our economy and society.

What is your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

“Focusing on skills necessary for professional engineering practice”

My vision is to engage students in leadership and mentorship. Besides this, I also develop ideas to serve our communities and implement them for a better future. Providing students with professional growth opportunities to meet career goals and conducting sound research that benefits the academic and professional communities are also very important parts of my vision.

Do you have any extracurricular activities for students?

“Introduction to ‘Student Government’ activities for representing institute students”

Our department provides one of the most widespread types of extracurricular experience to the students and that is ‘Student Government’. The students who take part in government organizations, such as student government and residence hall government, are typically elected by their peers to function as the "official voice" of students to university administration.
