What are your roles and responsibilities towards the Students in MSEC, Chennai?

“To monitor students' discipline and motivate them to participate in various programs”

My duties include Course instructor, Class Advisor, Research coordinator, Mentor, counselor, placement Coordinator, and more as a faculty of Information Technology. I always monitor and control students' discipline on the campus. Another role is to motivate our students to participate in various Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, etc. We instruct all the students to attend the classes regularly and to follow the dress code.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Provide effective classroom teaching and mentoring to maintain healthy relations on campus”

We create healthy relationships with students by taking effective classroom teaching. They get Counseling, Mentoring and more. Our campus provides various opportunities to express their talents in inter college activities. It assists students to maintain good relationships with fellow faculty by understanding. We share something positively among students and always avoid gossip on campus. 

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

“Experiential learning and technical skills are available to students from our subjects”

We promote experiential learning and encourage self-learning among pupils. They receive value-added courses to inculcate practical knowledge with tools and equipment. We always insist them to participate actively in practical classes which leads the students to get placement in reputed organizations. Technical skills enable our students to gain good knowledge and cope up with the industry expectation.

What are the best practices offered by the MSEC, Chennai for students which help them gain necessary skills?

“Seminar, Guest lectures, Workshop, Conference and Industrial Visits are provided to students”

We offer best practice programs for the students. It includes a week of E-Cube, Achieve Excellence Program, Value added course and Career Development Programs. Additionally, we conduct Seminar, Guest lectures, Workshop, Conference and Industrial Visits for pupils. All these activities promote interpersonal connectedness and academic engagement of a student. 

How do you strategize the curriculum and get updated to make it befitting for the students?

“Update syllabus, provide value added courses, tarinings, and projects for candidates”

Anna university syllabus is updated every four years. Our subject faculty conducts course outcome surveys to verify the understanding of the particular course taken by pupils. Faculty has initiated gap analysis and conducted prerequisite lectures for the students. They get value added courses, training, Industrial Visits, labs, mini, major project developments, curricular or extracurricular activities helps to attain POs of the program to a higher level.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education about the students from the MSEC, Chennai?

“Career guidance for higher education and placements with high packages are given to students”

Students get career guidance training programs from the campus. Majority of the students got benefited and placed in higher package jobs for the past 5 years. Our placement is consistent above 90 % in all the previous 5 years.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

“Encourage pupils to participate in technical events, national conferences and more”

We support all the students to participate in AICTE competitions such as Student Innovation Hackthon, Yukthi, Toycathon, etc. Our department level competition consists of Ecube , Societal Beneficiary Innovation program, etc. Students need to attend National level Symposium such as Paper Presentation and other Technical events. They get several National conferences for project presentations.

How does the University enhance the skills of the faculty and prepare them according to the industry standards?

“FDP courses and induction programs are provided to mentors in our campus”

We organize Faculty Development Programmes Courses on advanced topics for all disciplines. It strengthens our professional competence on campus. As per AICTE norms, we ensure that the new faculty attends induction programs. We encourage staff to be members of various professional bodies. Our management motivates and inspires staff members to get funded R & D projects.

You need to top notch in technical skills to have a prosperous career ahead. Create good ideas and broaden your knowledge. Always show willingness, ask questions and be competitive. Keep an eye on diverse assignments or training and be advanced.
