Dr. M. Jagadeesh Chandra Prasad is the Professor and HOD of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at MREC. He has over 21 years of experience in the Teaching sector. He accomplished a Ph.D. in 2023 from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. He did M.Tech in 1999 from Andhra University and B.E in 1996 from Andhra University. He has a Membership as a Life Member in ISTE. He has received the Best Administrator Teacher award.

The college’s vision is to actively foster collaborations with nearby research institutes and industries, creating a fertile ground for innovation and knowledge exchange. Through this strategic alliance, students are provided with practical exposure, preparing them comprehensively for their professional journeys. How do you stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and how do you incorporate this knowledge into your department's teaching and research?

By Research work and Research paper publications. Every fortnight research review meetings are conducted to discuss and share the research knowledge among faculty. The emphasis on research output not only enhances the institution’s academic reputation but also contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge in various fields. This proactive approach to research dissemination ensures that the faculty remains at the forefront of cutting-edge developments, ultimately benefiting both students and the broader academic community.


How do you encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, hackathons, competitions, and research projects to enhance their practical skills alongside their academic learning?

The main reason to compete is that you learn a great deal by participating in a competition. It also prepares the student for real-life scenario. The real-life situation will provide different knowledge apart from education. Competitions foster a spirit of healthy competition and teamwork, equipping students with invaluable skills in collaboration and effective communication. We offer experiences that offer a taste of the challenges and pressures one may face in professional settings, ultimately fortifying their ability to thrive in real-world scenarios. We encourage students to participate in hackathons, competitions, and research projects to enhance their practical skills alongside their academic learning.

How do you plan to collaborate with industry professionals and organizations to provide real-world experiences and opportunities for students in the ECE department at MREC?

The college’s proactive approach to establishing Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with industries and organizations is a strategic move toward enhancing the learning experience for students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department. Through these partnerships, students gain invaluable exposure to real-world scenarios, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This initiative not only equips them with relevant skills but also opens doors to potential internships, projects, and career opportunities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the competitive job market upon graduation. Can you explain the infrastructural facilities available with respect to the ECE Department at MREC?

The infrastructural facilities available in the college include ten well equipped laboratories, R&D Lab, Digital classrooms, Spectrum Analyzer, ZYBO Z10 FPGA Kit, ZED Development Board, Nexys 4 DDR FPGA Kit, etc. 


Being HOD, what strategies do you use to motivate and engage your students, and how do you ensure that they are well-prepared for their future careers?

Supporting students’ choices and interests to develop their personal interest, involvement, and ownership of their work, which aids in motivation. We build relationships with Each Student will ensure that they are well-prepared for their future careers. Nurturing students’ individual interests and passions encourages a sense of purpose and dedication, leading to a more fulfilling educational journey. This personalized approach fosters a deeper connection between educators and students, creating a supportive environment where each individual feels valued and understood.
