Mr. G. Prakash Babu is the Dean (TPO) at Lendi Institute Of Engineering and Technology. He has around 17 years of experience in the field of Training and Placement.
What are your roles and responsibility towards the students and the placements?
Yeah, actually my role is actually into this complete training and placement. My roles are very important to the college and as a Dean training and placement officer, I am having more response to this than the HODs. We are trying to implement new initiatives in the college like technical skills. Now the world is changing and the industry 4.0 is implementing and we are implementing that one like this we in this area we implemented the sales force. So we are having very good practice on that. And internships also we are the one of the best colleges in this area and that also we only implemented in the year 2018 and in this also we got very good awards in the national wild. So, initially we are focusing on this industry revolution 4.0.
What inspired you to pursue a career in higher education administration and what drew you to your current role as a team?
My team is focusing on higher education. I saw more than 20 batches of students. So higher education is very important this year. So we are trying to educate students to adapt to higher education and all.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?
There are a lot of initiatives in the world. Actually now it is an open market or they can work from Vizianagaram all across the world. Number of opportunities are there but students are not focusing on that. Actually what they are doing is simply enjoying life. 50% of the students are like that only remaining 50% they are focusing and they are setting well. Actually from my college I am not having that much of problem anyway in any college or other. In my college also 20% of the youth are like that only. So they are adapting to cell phones and this. Social media or not, they are not utilizing the social media in the proper way. So that is the main struggle to youth. But the open challenges are very excellent. Opportunities are there in the world. I actually, as a placement officer, I am very proud to say so many families from Vizianagaram and this rural part of Andhra Pradesh settle well from my college. Even I can tell. I can tell you some examples, some daily labors, extra pullers, their son, their son, son, daughters, son, daughter. They studied your college.

What are your primary responsibilities as a Dean of Training and Placement Officer and how do you balance them with other aspects of your job?
It is a very typical question. There is a very large gap is there? As a detraining and placement is entirely different and this academics is entirely different. The known subject is entirely different. And whatever. We are trying to focus on the main basics of the subjects and we are giving main training on the core engineering subjects. Now nobody reads the textbooks, everybody, they are reading the cell phones or caps like that. So there is a gap in that. So we are again from the three to onwards we are giving the basic training, Sir. Basic training to advanced training like that. We are like that. We are planning like that.
What are the placements in this academic year the students got in Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology?
Yeah, we are. We are having very good placement records. This college is only 15 years old and in the beginning 2012 to 2013 - 14, I struggled a lot Sir. Now why means there is no, there is no brand for the college that there is no inclinations for the college. Now we are having all inclinations and we are having the brand and now we are known to every industry Sir. So we are associated with more than 300 companies. So every year we are, we are getting very, very this very good package of companies and the highest package is. 45,00,000 from Amazon and this average package is 4.5 lakhs and more than 80% students. This placement track record is theirs. So one of the and now we are focusing on the fraud based companies also Sir even every year we will invite more than. 15 to 20 part based companies and from this year on from sorry from last three years, we are mainly inviting some core engineering companies. Actually students are not interested in working in the core companies.
Being the Dean of Training and Placement Officer of LendiInstitute of Engineering and Technology, what are the main challenges you are facing by bringing the companies to your college or by bringing the Placements to the students?
Up to 2022 we are not having any issues Sir. But this year the market is somewhat down actually. So we anyway we are, we are having some association with the companies and we are having more than 33 with the industries. So already Hexaware and some other companies reached our college this year also. I am expecting very good numbers from our students. But anyway challenge is there Sir, as our votes as our vote, there is a very big challenge this year, this year and the coming years.
