Analytics Society Organised Two Day Conference with NSHM Knowledge Campus and BESC Kolkata

Two Day Conference

New Delhi: The Analytics Society of India's Kolkata Chapter organised a conference in collaboration with NSHM Knowledge Campus and Bhawanipore Education Society College, from April 28 to April 29, 2023. The events were attended by speakers from IITs, ISER and IIFT.

The conference was held with the aim to promote academic collaboration between academics and industry. The event was held at the CII, Salt Lake, Kolkata and inaugurated by Mr Rajeev Kumar, Principal Secretary of Information Technology and Electronics, West Bengal. 

As per the reports, the conference was held in the presence of Prof Dinesh Kumar, IIM Bangalore, Prof Indranil Bose, IIM Ahmedabad, Mr Ambarish Dasgupta, Senior Partner, Intueri Consulting LLP, Mr. Cecil Antony, Chief Mentor, NSHM Knowledge Campus, and Dr Suparna Dhar.

The conference saw participation from over 40 speakers from top colleges in India, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, ISI, IIT Delhi, Liverpool Business School, IIEST, Jadavpur University, Calcutta University, IISER and IIFT among others. 

Additionally, companies and top industries like Amazon, Google, IBM, Wipro, TCS, RS Software, Business Brio, PwC, LnT, Adani group, Intueri Consulting, Achievex Solutions, Ingram Micro, Ananda Bazaar Patrika, NASSCOM, Neuropixel.ai, Kolkata Police joined the event. 

Speakers and experts from various industries shared their experiences with the audience in the field of aspects of analytics, covering topics like fundamental statistical theories, technological aspects of data management and analysis, and applications of analytics.

Scholars shared their research papers during the conference and their work has been published in an abstract book (ISBN 978-93-5895-845-4). Furthermore, a few selected papers will be published in Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS), a journal published by Springer, which is indexed in SCOPUS, SC Imago, DBLP and JST.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof Dinesh Kumar, IIM Bangalore said, ''The conference was aimed to motivate students and young scholars to engage in quality research and impactful projects in analytics that will help build a strong analytics ecosystem in the region”.
