The four-semester, interdisciplinary master’s degree in industrial engineering at KIT aims at a broad and at the same time research-oriented qualification in the following five core areas: business administration, economics, computer science, operations research and engineering. As a common aspect, special emphasis is placed on the training and application of quantitative methods in all core areas; these are the mathematical techniques of theory building and empirical analysis. The course is designed so that the Karlsruhe industrial engineer has a broad horizon and versatile problem-solving skills in his/her professional life, quickly familiarizes himself with the specific methods of his/her professional field,
In order to ensure the quantitative focus of the course, when selecting applicants, special attention is paid to the fact that they have profound knowledge of mathematics and statistics from their previous bachelor's degree as well as sufficient basic knowledge in most other core areas of the course.

You are younger than 30 years of age and/or if you have not studied for longer than 14 semesters (seven years), a statutory health insurance for students will cost around 120 € per Month at any of the German health insurance companies.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Following are the entry requirements to this program :
- A passed bachelor's degree or at least an equivalent degree from a university, technical college or dual university or at a foreign university in the industrial engineering, technical economics,
- necessary preliminary work in the subjects mathematics and/or statistics.
- International applicants must demonstrate appropriate language skills. For the application, you need at least knowledge at B1 level.

- Bachelor degree certificate in the original language and official translation. If not graduated yet please submit enrolment certificate with expected date of completition in the original language and official translation.
- transcript of records / exam results of the studies (with information regarding content and extend, for example, credit points or number of hours per week of the course) in the original language and official translation. In case an official diploma supplement is issued please submit the diploma supplement also.
