The master's program in process engineering and chemical engineering, in-depth and extensive engineering, mathematical and scientific knowledge with a focus on chemical process engineering, product design and plant engineering is taught in theory and practice.In the compulsory program and compulsory elective program, the students acquire a methodologically qualified engineering and scientific basic knowledge that is significantly expanded and deepened compared to the bachelor's degree, which is further developed in two freely selectable specialization subjects.In the master's degree, you first deepen the knowledge you acquired in the bachelor's degree. In the "Extended Basics" block, the "Process and Plant Engineering" module, which is compulsory for everyone, is completed as well as 4 modules from: physical chemistry, kinetics and catalysis, particle technology, numerical fluid dynamics, chemical thermodynamics, thermal transport processes, plus a module from bioengineering.

Following are the entry requirements to this program :

  • An above-average bachelor’s degree from a university .
  • Proof of German language proficiency at the medium level B1. All certificates are accepted. Also accept a confirmation of participation in a B1 course.
  • Mathematical foundations and programming 20 CP
  • Scientific foundations 15 CP
  • Engineering basics 24 CP
  • Thermodynamics and Transport Processes 20 CP
  • Process Engineering Basics 12 CP
  • Bachelor thesis or similar 12 CP
  • If up to 15 CP are missing in a maximum of two of these areas, admission is possible on condition that the missing performances are made up within the first three master's semesters. Further details on the application are listed in the admission regulations.
