MCAER PG CET 2024 Syllabus, Check Important Topics, Weightage, and Recommended Books

MCAER PGCET 2024 syllabus is set and declared by MAUEB (Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board). The syllabus of MCAER PGCET 2024 exam, for each stream, will include questions related to it. Over 80% of questions being asked from the mainstream and 20% from the syllabi of other eligible streams.

Through MCAER PG Common Entrance Test, candidates are evaluated based on their graduation streams. 

  • Agronomy: There are 25 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Principles of Agronomy, Practical Crop Production, Weed Management, etc.
  • Botany: There are 24 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Environmental Science, Principles of Plant Breeding, etc.
  • Soil Science: There are 14 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Soil Chemistry, Soil Fertility, Nutrient Management, etc.
  • Plant Pathology: There are 18 questions with 1 mark each. This section tests a candidate’s vigilance about the Introductory Plant Pathology.
  • Horticulture: There are 21 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Production Technology of Fruit Crops, Vegetables, etc.
  • Agricultural Extension: There are 13 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Fundamentals of Rural Sociology and Educational Psychology etc.
  • Agricultural Economics: There are 16 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Principles of Agricultural Economics etc.
  • Animal Science & Dairy Science: There are 8 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Livestock Production and Management etc.
  • Agricultural Entomology: There are 11 questions of 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Insect Ecology, Integrated Pest Management, Beneficial Insects, etc.
  • Agricultural Engineering: There are 8 questions with 1 mark each. The most frequent topics include Introduction to Computer and Applications etc.

According to MCAER PGCET 2024 exam pattern, applicants will be asked a total of 200 multiple-choice questions, that will weigh 1 mark each.
