KMAT exam 2025 is expected to be held in the third week of September. During the past 14 years, KPPGCA has been organizing the admission to MBA and MCA courses in the member institutions by holding the "Karnataka Management Admission Test (KMAT)". The KMAT 2025 Registration for admission to 159 MBA Institutions and 69 MCA Institutes has started from 14th May, 2025. The last date to register is 31st July, 2025. 

KMAT exam 2025 will be conducted in the remote-proctored mode.According to the KMAT exam pattern, the duration of the KMAT exam 2025 will be two hours and there will be multiple-choice questions. The other KMAT Exam dates have not been declared yet. 

What is KMAT Exam?

KMAT is a state-level exam conducted to provide opportunities to prospective candidates for admission to MBA, PGDM, and MCA programs offered by 169+ University-affiliated B-schools and over 55 MCA colleges in Karnataka. Successful KMAT Karnataka 2024 candidates will be invited by participating institutes to proceed with the admission process, which involves Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.

KMAT Karnataka or Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA). The organisation was established to provide support to professional education and facilitate and streamline the admissions to postgraduate professional courses. Check KMAT 2025 College Predictor

KMAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Previously, only candidates with Karnataka domicile were eligible to take the KMAT exam. However, starting from 2018, the domicile criterion was removed, allowing candidates from other states to appear for the exam. The new KMAT eligibility criteria are based on the guidelines provided by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Although the eligibility criteria are the same for all participating colleges, individual colleges may have additional requirements for final admissions.

  1. Academic Eligibility for MBA:
    - Candidates should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized college/university, including Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/Technology.
  1. Qualifying Marks:
    - Candidates must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent CGPA in the final year examination of their Bachelor's degree.
    - For SC/ST category candidates, the minimum aggregate required is 45% or equivalent CGPA.
  1. KMAT 2025 Eligibility for MCA:
    - Candidates seeking admission to MCA courses through KMAT 2024 must hold a bachelor's degree in any stream.
    - Candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% in the final year examination of their bachelor's degree.
    - Additionally, they must have studied Mathematics as a subject at the Class 12 level.
  1. Age Limit to Appear for KMAT 2025:
    - There is no specific age limit mentioned by KPPGCA for Karnataka KMAT. However, candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

KMAT Registration

KMAT 2025 Registration

KMAT admission process starts with the KMAT Registration which have commenced on May 14, 2025. Candidates are required to fill out the KMAT 2025 application form online on the official website.

Step 1: Register for KMAT 2025
Candidates need to register for KMAT 2025 on the official website of KMAT India. They must complete the online application form, providing basic details such as academic qualifications, domicile, reservation category, nationality, and upload photographs and signatures. The application process will be considered complete only after the payment of the application fee, which can be done online using options like Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, Wallets, etc.

Step 2: Fill out the KMAT 2025 Application Form
Once registered, candidates should proceed to fill out the KMAT 2025 application form with the required information and documents.

Step 3: Download KMAT Admit Card 2025
After successful submission of the application form, candidates will receive their KMAT admit card. The admit card will be available for download in September from the official website. Candidates can access their admit card by entering their login credentials on the admit card window.

Step 4: Appear for Karnataka KMAT 2025
Candidates must appear for the KMAT 2025 exam as per the scheduled date and timings. The exam is going to be conducted on November, 2025 (tentative) and will be an internet-based test.

Step 5: Check KMAT 2025 Result
The KMAT 2025 result will be declared online. It will indicate the qualifying status of candidates, scores obtained in each section, overall scores, and rank obtained in the exam.

Note: Clearing the exam does not guarantee admission to colleges accepting KMAT scores. After the declaration of KMAT results, candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will be called for the further selection process. Each participating college will have its own cut-off and merit list, and the final selection will be based on those factors.

KMAT Exam Pattern is notified by the exam conducting authority with the release of the official notification. The exam comprises 120 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark. KMAT 2025 question paper will be divided into 3 sections- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension; Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning. The total duration is 120 minutes with no sectional time limit. Also, there is no restriction on switching between sections.

KMAT 2025 Results

The KMAT results for 2025 are expected to be declared in December 2024. Candidates who have taken the exam will be able to access and download their scorecards online using their login credentials. The KMAT result 2024 for Karnataka will be announced for both MBA and MCA courses. To download the KMAT result 2025, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of KMAT India.
  2. On the homepage, locate and click on the 'KMAT 2025 Results' button.
  3. You will be directed to a login page.
  4. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth in the respective fields.
  5. Click on the 'Login' button to access your KMAT scorecard.
  6. Once logged in, you can download and save your KMAT scorecard for future reference.

KPPGCA will not send the hard copy of KMAT scorecard 2025 via post to the students. Those who get a valid score in KMAT 2025 will be shortlisted for the selection rounds. The result of KMAT 2025 will be valid for only one year. It will contain the following details:

KMAT 2025 FAQs

Ques. I belong to the general category. What is the minimum percentage of marks I need to apply for KMAT exam?

Ans. If you are from the general category, you need to secure not less than 50% of marks in aggregate to appear for KMAT exam. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage is 45%.

Ques. Can I apply for two programs through KMAT exam?

Ans. Yes, you can apply for two programs, however, you will have to fill out separate KMAT application forms for each program and pay the application fee of INR 850 separately.

Ques. Can I use a calculator during KMAT exam? 

Ans. No, you will not be allowed to use any electronic device like a calculator or others on the day of KMAT exam. If candidates do not follow the rules, then they will be disqualified from taking the exam right away. 

Ques. How many times can I apply for KMAT Karnataka in a year?

Ans. Earlier, candidates could apply twice in a year if they were dissatisfied with the score. But now, candidates can appear for the exam only once a year. So, for KMAT Karnataka exam, candidates will be able to appear only once.

Ques. Is it mandatory to have a photo ID proof for taking KMAT exam?

Ans. Yes, it is mandatory for all candidates to show a valid photo ID proof along with the downloaded admit card for verification purposes on the exam day. Without these documents, no candidate will be allowed to appear for the IBT test. 

Ques. Is application form correction facility available for KMAT exam?

Ans. No, candidates will not be permitted to make any changes to KMAT application form after submission. So, candidates are advised to fill and check the application form details correctly before final submission.

Ques.  Can I select more than 1 exam center for KMAT exam?

Ans. No, candidates can only select one KMAT Exam Center while filling their application forms. Candidates must choose the same very wisely as no changes will be permitted later.

Ques.  After making the payment of KMAT application fee, can I get a refund for the same if I am not able to appear for the examination?

Ans. No, the examination fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. But, in case you have paid twice for the same course, you will surely get a refund.

Ques. Which are the topmost B-schools that will accept KMAT scores?

Ans. For this year, the scores will be accepted by more than 169 + well-known AICTE – approved

University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. A few of the leading institutions include
