The IISER Cutoff 2025 will be released by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research as the IISER Results 2025, have been released on 24 June 2025, around 12:00 PM on the official IISER website. The IISER Cutoffs are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to secure admission into the IISERs, like IISER Pune, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, and IISER Bhopal for the BS-MS program.

  • For the General category candidates, the expected cutoff range is between 120 to 130 marks out of 240, for OBC category candidates it is 100-110. The cutoff range of the reserved category candidates is expected to be slightly less, like 65–75 for SC/ST, and 110–120 for EWS.
  • The closing rank of IISER Pune is expected to have the lowest IISER Cutoff, 259 cutoff range for the General category, 257 for OBC, and SC (125), ST(54), EWS(61), PwD(7),  reflecting the most competitive institute.

The IISER will release the IISER Merit list 2025 after the release of the IISER Result 2025, which is expected in the 2nd week of June 2025. IISER Cutoff 2025 FAQs

Ques. What are the cutoff marks for IISER?

Ans. As per the previous years’ IISER Cutoff trends, the cutoff for general category candidates is expected to be 115 to 130. However, for OBC and SC/ST categories, the IISER cutoff marks are expected to be 95 to 110 and 60 to 75, respectively. For EWS category candidates, the IISER cutoff marks are expected to be 105 to 120.

Ques. What is a safe score in IISER?

Ans. For IISER 2025, a mark of more than 115 is expected to be the safe score for general category candidates. For OBC NCL candidates, the expected safe score is 95 or more, and for SC/ST categories is 60+. However, for EWS candidates, more than 105 is the expected safe score for IISER.

Ques. Is 120 a good score in IAT?

Ans. Yes, 120 is considered a good score in the IISER Aptitude Test. Candidates with 120 or more 120 marks in IAT have higher chances of getting admission to the courses offered by IISERs.

Ques. Can I get IISER with a 15,000 rank?

Ans. No, with a 15000 rank in IISER, students can not be admitted to any participating IISERs. The highest closing rank for IISER 2024 was 4484 for BS-MS at IISER Berhampur.
