Tips for Entrance Exams

Scoring well in an entrance exam is not a difficult task if one is well aware of the latest exam pattern. Hence, one should go through the previous year papers and perform a proper analysis of the exam pattern. Apart from this, one should do thorough research about the full syllabus of the entrance exam. Mainly there are four sections in almost all the MBA entrance exams.

One can follow the tips given below in order to excel in any entrance exam:

  • Generally, multiple-choice based questions are asked in the exam. In most exams, negative marks are offered for every wrong answer. So, make sure you attempt only those questions which you are sure of.
  • Verbal ability and reading comprehension sections generally include Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, Para Jumbles, Summarizing etc. The best way to get acquainted with the language is to do as much reading as possible.
  • The QA section comprises questions about 10th-level Mathematics. The questions are usually tricky and require a different approach to solving them. Hence one must be very clear with the basics.
  • The DI & LR section is generally tricky and difficult. One can start preparing for this section by trying to solve simple puzzles. Try to solve questions correctly and quickly.
  • Some entrance exams also have general knowledge and current affairs questions. The types of questions asked under this section are about national and international affairs, businesses, taglines of companies, top officials of big companies, international organizations, social issues etc.
  • One must read newspapers and news articles daily to stay updated on current affairs.
  • Once done with the syllabus, one must start taking mock tests. This helps one to get a taste of the type of questions that are usually asked in the exam. Taking around 20 to 25 mocks can help you in performing really well in the entrance exam.
  • One can even rely on a suitable coaching institute for preparation if one feels the need for it.

Placement Experience:

From the last semester for every course, the placement start. I am a pharmacy student so the companies like Wipro, cognizant, albemic, sun Pharma, Nestle and so more visit. Last year the highest package was about 4.8 LPA and the average is 1.5-3.5 LPA. Maximum students get a job about 70%. Others in the family business, higher studies, preparation of competitive exams etc.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship is available for students. Before I say about those companies who offered an internship with stipend about 15000 pm. There are so many projects that work in different courses. Most of the pharmacy students work in the industry for project work like tablet formulation syrup etc.

Placement Experience:

Students for summers get eligible after the first trimester nearly and for finals, it is a second year. For our course, varied level of companies come with handsome salary and good position. PPO/PPI is available for the eligible students where the decision stands solely from the company side. Information related to package and company is not sharable as per norms but big companies come and almost all the students who want to go for the job gets placed by the college. Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, market research, consultancies, medical communication, and other associated healthcare companies do visit the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is a one-of-a-kind program. This subject appealed to me since the pharmaceutical sector as a whole is incredibly dynamic and ever-growing. The student-to-faculty ratio is 1:20. Teachers needed to have MBA or higher degree i.e, Ph.D. and above) from a prestigious university. Visiting faculties, guest lecturers are also invited to share their immense knowledge on various pharmaceutical issues. Instructions remain related to case studies. Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this degree to get a head start in my profession, and NMIMS in particular since it is one of the major universities that offers it, and the LTC course is NMIMS' flagship course, which aids in total learning during the course, from academics to on-the-job knowledge. The professor-to-student ratio is good, with a class size of no more than 50 students, allowing the faculty to focus more effectively.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The course is expensive with a fee of 6.5L per year so a total of 13L but it has a good return on investment. The fee is actually carefully structured and aligned with the institute's materials. I have not applied for financial assistance but banks easily provide loans for such courses

Books were sent across courier only to us and library access is given online. Sports and extra activities are there, but again due to the online scenario, I am not able to go through it much. Also, there are close to 15 clubs and committees related to marketing, finance, operations, students, placements, singing, dance, etc.

The fee is hiked almost every year at NMIMS, but you can get loans easily by the name of NMIMS only. There are some scholarship opportunities available for students with an annual family income of 8 lakhs but come with a lot of conditions as well.
