Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

I think the fee for this college is a little bit more but there is 100 per cent placement also. So when we get a good placement we don't bother about the fee. This college also has many scholarships like if we are getting more than 85 per cent every year there will be a 20 per cent scholarship and there are many more.

Campus Life:

In this college every month some new function happens. There is a huge library also where many books are kept. There are cricket, badminton, football, volleyball, table tennis etc sports in upes. There is an Instagram page UNE which is run by the students of upes.

Placement Experience:

7th and onwards semester students are eligible to be a part of campus placements for u.g. courses. There are so many companies that visit the campus which makes it difficult to tell the name of those accountably. 96 lakhs/ annum is the highest package offered to a student offered there and the average package is around 8.5 lakhs/ annum. 100% of student get placed every year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course seems to be very interesting to pursue, that's why I have chosen this course. It has a ratio of 1 faculty over 26 students. Most of the teacher's had completed their ph.d. in a specific subject and their teaching method is almost nearer to perfect. Exams are after almost every 5 to 6 months and if you study averagely then it's really easy to pass those exams.

There are two annual fests every year: Ignite(technical Fest) and UURJA(social fest). All books prescribed to us are available in the library as e-books and as hard copies. There are smart classes with e-learning means and also any other amenities that are required. There are sports & extracurricular activities all around the year and there are national and state level competitions conducted to enhance the skills of the players.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements in the last 2 semesters of the course. The companies that visit the campus for my particular domain are ONGC, Reliance, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Shell, Exxon Mobil, Cairn and many more, The no of offers made vary according to need. There is 100% placement and my plans after my degree are to pursue a job to gain some experience and then do my higher studies from abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There have been times that many teachers have comforted and taken care of students when they are going through a rough patch. Also, the teachers are willing to help you at any time when you need them for anything curriculum related. The teachers go out of their way to clear out any doubts even after the class.UPES gives students industrial exposure in the form of industry visits, guest lectures, projects, workshops and much more. I??ve interacted with students in other universities and been told that they only receive theoretical education, which makes their course extremely monotonous

College Events:

Campus LIfeis very good. Many types event happen also there are Ignte and UURJA which are hearty of UPES As upes has this at veru big level also thrrer many college clubs which conduct events on regular basis There are cricket tournament. are also happen.

Remarks:

I choose this college because of its location and its Prestigious reputation. The University is located amidst the picturesque Himalayas in Dehradun. The location great as the university is secluded and spacious. In winters, the place becomes even more beautiful and becomes a perfect setting to study with your warm tea. The university is secluded from the city making it free from the hustle-bustle and commotion.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty at UPES is the most helpful bunch of educators I have ever come across. The professors understand that most of us are away from our homes and tend to get homesick often. And rarely any other universities in India take the effort of providing its students with industrial exposure. However, UPES gives students industrial exposure in the form of industry visits, guest lectures.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was very much structured. They try to make the students industry ready. Not just theoretical knowledge is imparted apart from that students are given practical knowledge about the same. The exam structure is like there are 8 semesters for btech out of which each semester has a mid sem exam which comprises of 20% of total score of the semester and then end semester exams which contributes to 50% of overall score and rest 30% is for internal assessment.

Placement Experience:

Coming to the placement part, the college tries to place each and every student but don't compensate for the heavy amount of fee paid by the students. The placement scenario is a bit dicey. Some can get a job of 20 lacs or more and some can get only 3-4 lacs per annum. So the average placement could be around 4.5-5 lacs per annum. Yes internships are provided by the college as well and the faculty also helps the students to get internships.

Remarks:

Positive: the campus is very vibrant if you are a nature lover there is no better location for a campus to be. The faculty are good and if you are smart enough you can also get a placement of 10-15lpa easily Negative: its a private college and you can get easily admission here if you are an average student but it will be difficult for you to get job afterwards so decide smartly, what you want a job or a degree.

Placement Experience:

Placement is not that great according to my experience till now but thats not the college fault i think market is not that good so there are ups and down. Yes college do provide the internship and thats on you how better you can get there are some internship with stipend also but thats again on your strength.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities for most of the branches are much higher than expected. For some left out branches college is trying their best to get the desired companies. And regarding the internships yes college provides 1 internship for every 3 year btech student which is mandatory for appearing in any interview for the job.

Campus Life:

Extracurricular activities are more or less always working in the college like there is a sports committee that looks after all the things. Labs are the attraction of the college there are a numerous number of labs in our college and they provide all round knowledge to the students practically.

College Events:

Cultural Annual Fest is UURJA, which takes place in the month of October/November. The administration spends very less money, as a result of no big celebrity ever comes up. The fest is a good way of get-together though. The annual technical fest is Ignite, which takes place in February. This fest is of no level and the participation is really low.

Ques. What should I take IIT Dharwad or IIT Bhilai with Electrical, Mechanical, or IIT Dhanbad with Petroleum?

● Top Answer By Souvik Nayak on 11 Jan 21

Ans. IIT Dhanbad is known for offering the best program for a degree in Petroleum around the world. You will have the chance to secure a job with top companies with high packages, sometimes even leading up to 20 LPA.  The table below gives a brief insight into the institutes.  Particulars IIT Dharwad Electrical  IIT Bhilai MEchanical  IIT Dhanbad Petroleum  Placement Rate 60% 65% 80% Highest CTC 14 LPA 8 LPA 32 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA 3.5 LPA 8 LPA Current scenario: The number of high paying placements for Petroleum Engineering has considerably reduced after the institute became an IIT. If you have confidence on securing a well-paying job then go ahead and apply for the course in Petroleum. If placement is important to you then you might want to reconsider your options. Electrical and Mechanical observe a high number of placements considering they are core branches of Engineering. Petroleum being a niche field of study sees fewer placements. Infrastructure: (Winning Institute - IIT Dhanbad) IIT Dharwad and IIT Bhilai are fairly new and therefore still do not offer a fully-developed campus.  IIT Dhanbad, on the other hand, has a well-developed campus that offers students all modern and updated facilities such as practical labs, multiple academic blocks, a digital library, and more. In terms of Infrastructure, IIT Dhanbad is way better. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages so weigh in those and choose as you see fit.Read more
