The second year of B Pharmacy is divided into two semesters, namely, the third and fourth semesters. Each semester is four to six months long. Different subjects are taught in both semesters. The syllabus of 2nd year B Pharmacy is listed below.

B Pharmacy Third Semester Subjects
- Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry-II: This subject focuses on methods of preparation and reactions of some organic compounds. The topics covered are Benzene and its derivatives, Phenols, Aromatic Amines, Aromatic Acid, Fats and Oils, Polynuclear hydrocarbons, and Cycloalkanes.
- Physical Pharmaceutics-I: This subject focuses on various physical and physicochemical properties, and principles involved in dosage forms/formulations. The topics covered are the Solubility of drugs, States of Matter and properties of matter, Physicochemical properties of drug molecules, Surface and interfacial phenomenon, Complexation and protein binding, pH, buffers, and Isotonic solutions.
- Pharmaceutical Microbiology: This subject focuses on all categories of microorganisms, especially for the production of alcohol, antibiotics, vaccines, vitamins enzymes, etc. The topics covered are Introduction to Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes, Identification of Bacteria using staining techniques, Study of Morphology, etc.
- Pharmaceutical Engineering: This subject focuses on the art and science of various unit operations used in the pharmaceutical industry. The topics covered are Flow of fluids, Size Reduction, Size Separation, Heat Transfer, Evaporation, Distillation, Mixing, Filtration, Centrifugation, etc.

- Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry-III: This subject focuses on stereo-chemical aspects of organic compounds and organic reactions, important named reactions, and the chemistry of important heterocyclic compounds. The topics covered are Stereo isomerism, Geometrical isomerism, Heterocyclic compounds, and Reactions of synthetic importance.
- Medicinal Chemistry-I: This subject focuses on the structure-activity relationships of drugs, the importance of physicochemical properties, and the metabolism of drugs. The topics covered are Introduction to Medicinal Chemistry, Drugs Acting on Autonomic Nervous System, Cholinergic neurotransmitters, Direct acting agents, Drugs Acting on Central Nervous System, etc.
- Physical Pharmaceutics-II: This subject focuses on various physical and physicochemical properties, and principles involved in dosage forms/ formulations. The topics covered are Colloidal dispersions, Rheology, Deformation of solids, Coarse dispersion, Micromeretics, and Drug stability.
- Pharmacology-I: This subject focuses on what drugs do to living organisms and how their effects can be applied to therapeutics. The topics covered are General Pharmacology, the Pharmacology of drugs acting on the peripheral nervous system, the Pharmacology of drugs acting on the central nervous system, and the Pharmacology of drugs acting on the central nervous system.
- Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry-I: This subject focuses on the fundamentals of Pharmacognosy. The topics covered are Introduction to Pharmacognosy, Classification of drugs, Cultivation, Collection, Processing, and storage of drugs of natural origin, Plant tissue culture, Pharmacognosy in various systems of medicine, and Study of biological source, chemical nature and uses of drugs of natural origin.
