A Future Researcher Perspective Of IISER Bhopal

The Campus is huge and has high end facilities. The Labs are some of the most advanced labs in any colleges present in India.
The Physics and Biology department are the best in the college. The professors have a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge about their subjects.

Dislikes

The Chemistry professors are not that good from my experience
The Maths department is one of the worst departments in the college as the professor are extremely strict

Placement Experience:

Placement is taken only by the students are who doing engineering and economic sciences and our placement is not that good as our average package is 5 lakhs per annum and max being 8-12 lakhs. Almost all of the engineering and economic students try to go IIM's after IISER to get an MBA degree. All the natural sciences students after their 5 year course go to various universities in India and abroad to pursue their PhD degree and after go to work in various labs as researchers.

Likes

Diverse people from a variety of states and different backgrounds allowed me to learn different cultures. Very well defined curriculum helps in smooth functioning of academics, sports, cultural events as well as the internships and holidays.
The sports facilities along with the coaching of each and every sports is the best part. The grounds and the courts are very well maintained. Starting any event from the ground level is appreciated by the coaches.

Dislikes

Undertaking PhD is emphasized than placements. The academics are quite hectic as 2 quizzes and Midterm end sem exams are conducted within a span of 4 months. Students managing the events or the coordinators need to sacrifice their academics.
The academic section is not lenient and not very cooperative and so it gets difficult for the students to manage everything. Although it's part of learning and gaining experiences, it comes at the cost of missing few classes.

Placement Experience:

For BS engineering students campus placement is eligible from 4th year and for BS-MS students from 5th year. Very less students go for placement. Not sure but probably I will be doing PhD after getting the degree.

Lab facilities and equipments are very good and the clarity of subjects through the professors are also impressive.
Internship and phd opportunities are great it's very easy to go abroad for phd through iisers.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities are very less, so students who are interested in placements do not get enough chances to fulfill it.

Placement Experience:

From 8th semester students are eligible for applying for placements. Companies like Dr. Reddy, Wipro come for placements. But the number of placements are less compared to other colleges as it is a research oriented institute.

As I am a chemistry major, I liked the chemistry professional labs and all other facilities like NMR Spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry, CIF etc.
Our campus has access to all sports facilities like cricket,footbal,badminton,kabbaddi,kho-kho and every sport has experienced coaches.

Dislikes

The college is too far away from the city and there are no bus facilities, and the auto charges are not affordable for all.
The mess food in the college is not eatable sometimes and we have to pay whole month mess fees and paying mess fees is compulsory for every registered student. If there was not a compulsion, I could have eaten outside on daily basis.

Placement Experience:

People joining IISER and other research colleges generally go for higher studies like PhD after BS-MS. After 6th semester in BS, people are eligible for campus placements. In BS, the average package is 17 LPA and for BS-MS it is around 7 LPA. Some top recruiters are TCS, Deloitte, SBI, Atotech, REddy's Lab. The percentage of students getting placements in BS is high around 80 percent but in BS-MS it is less because students prefer for higher studies rather than go for placements. My plans after degree will be pursuing for PhD , and if not I will be going for a career in teaching.

IISER Bhopal - A perfect blend of rigorous science and vibrant campus life.

The campus is really beautiful. Students from all background and different corner of the country approach here for research and studies in interdisciplinary sciences. The senior junior interactions are very healthy and encouraging.
Faculties are well experienced and excellent researcher as well as teacher. They have connections all around the world which help us in grabbing opportunities everywhere. There is a placement cell, currently in growing phase.

Dislikes

There is no common room for Boys and Girls in a hostel.
The placement cell is not developed completely and very few companies gather here for recruitment.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is growing and has not yet fully developed. Very few companies in consultancy, data science, etc., approach the institutes for recruitment. Mostly, engineering and economic sciences students are placed with an average placement of 7 LPA, etc. Some companies recruiting are Deloitte, Dr. Reddy's Lab, etc. Other BS-MS students generally go for higher studies abroad and in the country.

Lab facilities and classrooms and infrastructure
Sports equipments are available and grounds are well maintained

Dislikes

There is 10 pm curfew for our batch which I think should be removed
Fines are very strictly applied and one of my friend fined 5000 rs.

Placement Experience:

Placement cells are newly formed but average of engineering department is around 17 Lpa and most of the student go for phd but about 7 students are placed out of 10 My plan is also going for phd in any foreign universties

Placement Experience:

First of all, this is a research institute so most of the students go for a Ph.D. to advance their careers in this field. There is also placement started for people from programming and finance backgrounds. There are around 10 students every year getting placed with decent placement.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good this year we got various companies like next education, nurture farms, Deloitte, buys, Tamura holdings, and pay to range over approx 6-28LPA which is pretty decent for a BS fresher but most of the people here got for MA and Ph.D. after Bs and very fewer people will sit in the placements.

Placement Experience:

We are not quite familiar with the Placement of our college. But as heard last year 27 lakh package was provided to a student. General most people go for PHD( more than 50%). I am planning for the same after getting my degree.
