About JB Law College
After the name of a well-known personality in the legal field of Assam and the first Principal of the first Law College of Assam, Jnanadabhiram Borooah Law College was named. It is popularly known as J.B. Law College (JBLC). Established in 1969 in Guwahati, Assam, JB Law College has been imparting legal education. It currently offers LLB, LLB Hons., BA LLB Hons., and LL.M.
Admission to the respective courses is based on the eligibility of students to get selected on merit cum admission test and interview, which is conducted in college premises as per schedule. Students from the entire North-Eastern region come to JBLC to study law.

- JBLC is the only Law College in the North-Eastern region, assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and awarded Grade-B in November 2015 for its pursuits of legal education.
- The College is accredited by NAAC, AICTE. It is permanently affiliated to the Gauhati University and recognized by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission.
- The college has a facility of contemporary Moot Court Hall for skill development and Law students to practice trials so that they can develop advocacy skills.

The admission process is very easy. Interested students wanting to apply need to get the application form from the college website and admission is based on merit basis and reservation for students belonging to ST/SC/OBS and others. The exam pattern is fine but the marks given during the evaluation are not satisfactory.

The eligibility for appearing in viva voice , minimum 45% in higher secondary.you get admission only after you pass the viva voice,one kind of interview . reservation for dc ,St,obc is there.seats are reserved for this communities

- We don't have proper good food in the cateen. We have to eat the canteen food which is made with lots of oil and isn't healthy too.
- We have good subjects but we don't have regular classes. We sometimes have to wait for 2 hours doing nothing just because a teacher doesn't want to take a class.
Admission:
The eligibility criteria 45% for General students and also written exam. I had to visit our college to get the form and all the procedure was offline so I had to visit the college many times. The questions for entrance were easy as many students who were selected for the college were just average students. The admission process was chaos. We were informed that our cpurse fees is 13,500 however now in my final year it has increased to18,500 without any prior notice.

The eligibility of B.A.LL.B (h) is 60% in the class 12 examination from any board. The application form and every detail have been given on the JB law college official website. The form fill-up the date and the latest news are uploaded on the website itself. The admission process is quite easy n understandable for everyone.

The overall admission process was easy and smooth going, there was no hectic suffering for the students. The application form and all the information were provided on the college website, so it was convenient for the students who stayed far from the place of the institute to get the information. There were at least 5 seats reserved for minorities, like ST, SC, etc. The interview was held one on one with the professors. They asked us questions about laws, the Indian constitution, etc.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum of our course was good and interesting. We had to learn both the degree subjects and the law subjects. All the papers are good and getting good marks is quite easy in all the subjects.
Admission:
This college is the best law college of Assam.and I find the results of the students are excellent which drove me to take admission in this college.the teachers are very honest and friendly.They put full efforts to guide us.

The college is quote renowned in the north east with a lot of students from that part of the country studying in the college. The infrastructure is good, the faculty is knowledgeable and the college maintains a good balance between studies and fun.

Candidates shall have to be passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination there to securing in aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks for General candidates and not less than 40% of the total marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The fee per year for the BALLB course is INR 13,500. Admission for BALLB course is done by a merit cum admission test and an on spot interview. The performance of the candidates in the admission test and interview integratedly decide the selection of the candidates in that particular course. The whole admission procedure is conducted by the college.
