I was interested in a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. It is a 4-year course with a one-year mandatory internship offered by the college hospital. All the faculty members are renowned doctors with MDS degrees. Exams are held 4 times, three times internals, and one professional exam held by WBUHS.
Most of the students who have good marks in every exam get placed in the best places across the state and country. They get a good handsome salary. My plans after the degree are either doing a master's or applying for various jobs.
There is 3 internal exam and 1 professional exam on the last of the year. On the first year, there is 4 subject, every 200 marks including theory and practical, the pass marks is 50% of it and the required college attendance (75%) is too important, we have to clear the eligible marks to get on the next year. As we all know medical science is not so easy, so we always had to work hard to pass or getting good marks.
Because it is the one of the best Dental college in North Eastern zone of India. Many famous bds doctors were graduate from this college. The fees of entire course is very low in this college compare to many other BDS colleges. The faculties of this college is one of the best.Number of patients in the hospital is high.
Our arena of work doesn't involve any placement. Private practice and/or government or corporate jobs rely on individual caliber. Our college has quite a few notable personalities in its alumni association. Most of its passouts are well established in their domain of work
My course is noble, popular, lucrative and boasts of job security. An inbuilt urge to serve the society and heal people's pain drove me to pursue the course. I was alloted my college via the official process of medical counselling following NEET(the pre medical entrace examination in India).
Academically good college but management needs to be better.
The admission into the college is a two step process: 1. Entrance Test : Eligible candidates need to appear for the Entrance Test conducted by the college. 2. Merit Screening : Admission is based on the marks obtained in Entrance Test and qualifying examination.
The worst thing about our college is the administration. They dominate us in every possible way and the only thing our boss understands is money. In many instances we have got very less support from our college and administration.
For MDS Course of studies: Candidate should have passed BDS from Govt. India / DCI recognized College & University Candidate should have permanent registration from Dental Council of India/State Council. Mere fulfilling eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission. Admission will be solely based on the merit in NEET as per preference given in the application.
