Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) course at the UG level, under 2 specializations. Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech should have completed 10+2 with 55% marks, having taken Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Computer Science as the subjects. Admission to the B.Tech courses will be done on the basis of merit i.e. performance in the 10+2 qualifying examination.
Applications for admission to the B.Tech courses are accepted from the native Tamil Nadu candidates or candidates who have completed their 10th, 11th and 12th standard from Tamil Nadu. Candidates who have not studied 10th, 11th and 12th standards in Tamil Nadu should produce the Certificate of Permanent Residence in Tamil Nadu, issued by the competent authorities.
- Candidates should be below 21 years of age as on July 7, 2021.
- However, there are no age restrictions for SC, SCA and ST candidates.

Aggregate marks, which are considered while preparing the merit list, is calculated as follows: Aggregate Mark = Sum of ((marks obtained in each subject / maximum mark for that subject) X 50) all the four subjects considered.
If more than one student has the same aggregate marks, then the inter se merit list will be prepared with the following order of priority:
- Marks out of 50 in Mathematics.
- Marks out of 50 in Physics.
- Marks out of 50 in Chemistry.
- Date of birth – eldest first.

- Log on to the official website of “TNAU : Online Pre-Admission”.
- Click on “Undergraduate”.
- Click on the “New Registration button.”
- Fill in the necessary details to receive login ID and password on your email.
- Login to your account on the admissions portal.
- Fill out the necessary details accurately and submit.
- Application fee is INR 300 for SC, ST and SCA candidates and INR 600 for all other candidates.
- Application fee should be paid online, following the e-payment link available on the admission portal.
- Download and take a print out of the Joint Declaration Form and Appendices / Checklist.
- Attested copy of the Joint Declaration Form, along with other documents and originals should be produced at the time of verification and counseling.
- Candidates who have applied for seats under Differently Abled / Ex-servicemen / Descendants of Freedom Fighter / Eminent Sports Person Quota must submit the signed Joint Declaration Form with necessary Documents and Annexures in person, to the Dean(Agriculture) and Chairman (Admission), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore ONLY.
