TNAU 43rd Convocation: Governor Urges Students to Achieve 175 Annual Patents

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) organised the 43rd Convocation. The event was presided over by Tamil Nadu Governor and university chancellor RN Ravi. The governor highlighted the significance of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) celebrated its 43rd convocation, graced by Tamil Nadu Governor and university chancellor RN Ravi. The event provided a platform for approximately 150 students engaged in various university activities, representing 15 distinct categories, to interact with the esteemed Governor.

Among the participants were students involved in research, twinning programs, and international internships in foreign universities. Those who reaped the benefits of language labs, drone pilots, student entrepreneurs, patent holders, college students from other states, and TNAU award winners all contributed to the convocation's diverse and dynamic atmosphere.

Governor RN Ravi delved into bank performance, emphasising the flow of funds to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs. He highlighted the transformative impact of direct beneficiary transfers on the economy, citing the MUDRA scheme's distribution of INR 23 lakh crore to small and medium entrepreneurs.

The Governor highlighted the significance of the "new trinity" - research, innovation, and entrepreneurship - urging the youth to contemplate their contributions to developing the country.

Furthermore, the Governor illuminated the symbiotic relationship between educational institutions and industry, emphasising its role in boosting employment, fostering research, and developing products and services tailored to societal needs. Encouraging students to aspire to greater heights, he specifically urged them to increase the number of patents, setting a commendable target of 175 patents per year.

In addressing the broader landscape of education, Governor Ravi stressed the responsibility of educational institutions to create an enabling environment for students to enhance their communication skills and articulate themselves effectively. 

He anticipated a rising reliance on technology to deliver quality education that is accessible to all. The conference served as a celebration of academic achievements and a platform to inspire and guide the students towards contributing to the nation's growth and development.
