Shyam Lal College, Delhi Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Cutoff, Application Form, Last Date

Step 1: Registration for Entrance Examination

Shyam Lal College admission to UG and PG courses is provided based on scores from CUET UG and CUET PG exams. Interested candidates must register and appear for the accepted entrance examinations by the college.

Note: Candidates should apply to those courses only that they have studied in the last qualifying exam while filling out the CUET application.

To successfully submit the CUET application, admission-seeking candidates must have various documents available to them, such as -

• A scanned copy of a recent passport-sized photograph

• Scanned copy of your signature (black ink)

• Photo ID proof issued by the Government of India (Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.)

• Marksheets for all qualifying exams

• Category certificate (if applicable)

• Banking details for application fee payment

Step 2: Appear and Qualify in the Entrance Exam

After filling out the CUET application form, candidates must appear and qualify for the entrance examination as per the schedule released by NTA.

Step 3: DU CSAS Registrations and Preference Filling for Courses & Colleges

Candidates who qualify for the CUET examination must register for the Delhi University Common Seat Allocation System (DU CSAS) for both UG and PG courses and choose Shyam Lal College as their preference.

Note: Candidates applying for the Sports Supernumerary quota or ECA quota must pay INR 100 as an additional application fee. They must also upload certificates from the past 3 years of active participation. 

To register to the DU CSAS portal, candidates must have the below-given documents such as -

• Photo (jpeg/jpg format)

• Scanned Signature (jpeg/jpg format)

• Marksheet for all qualifying exams

• Category Certificate (if applicable)

• Affidavit for Single Girl Child (if applicable)

• Certificate from Orphanage/ Death Certificate of parent (if applicable)

• Kashmiri Migrant (if applicable)

• PwBD/CW Category (if applicable)

• Ward Quota (if applicable)

• A total of 5 certificates from the past 3 years, if applying through the ECA category

• A total of 3 certificates from the past 3 years, if applying through the Sports Supernumerary category

Step 4: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation at Delhi University is carried out in multiple rounds. The university releases a single, dedicated merit list for admission to UG courses. For admission to PG courses, Delhi University releases merit lists in two distinct categories such as -

• Common Merit List (CML): This merit list is open to all; meaning any eligible candidate is shortlisted by the university for Shyam Lal College courses.

• Category 2 Merit List (C2ML): The students who graduated from Delhi University are offered admission through the Category 2 Merit List. 

Seats are provisionally allocated to candidates who meet the Shyam Lal College admission criteria such as college and course combo, performance in the entrance exam, seat availability, category of candidates, and more.

Step 5: Seat Blocking and Final Admission

Once the merit list is released, candidates must log in to check their CSAS dashboard to see if any seats have been allocated. If the candidate has been allotted a seat at Shyam Lal College in any particular round, the candidate must 'Accept' the seat before the last date specified by the university. Failing this, the seats allocated will be reported as vacant for the next round and the allocation can be changed accordingly.

• Once the provisionally allocated seat is accepted, the administration of Shyam Lal College will approve the seat allotment by verifying the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate.

• After approval from the college, candidates must pay the Shyam Lal College admission fees for their chosen course to confirm their seats.
