The curriculum of the course is also relevant and useful for future of the student. The exams are not that difficult but it depends on your preparation . I chose this course because I want to pursue a career in civil services in the future and this course would be a great help for me . The curriculum of the course is really great.
I chose this course because it was an optional for UPSC MAINS, as well as a good base for three year LLB course. The faculty at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College is particularly wonderful. The teachers encourage discussion and debates. Academically speaking, SPM provides an even better environment than some of the North Campus colleges. The semesters at Delhi University were shortened during my first year as a lot of time had been lost due to the pandemic. Despite this, due to the excellent advice and teaching provided, my classmates performed really well. The exams were in OBE mode so that was another factor that led to an above-average performance by our class.
I chose the course because it was of my interest. There is good faculty and many activities and seminars are conducted along with the regular classes. Teachers are very helpful. The teaching method however was mostly lecture cum discussion-based, There is one internal and one external examination in one semester along with one assignment submission.
Course: So my course is B.A. Hons. Political Science and I love this course. I love the syllabus and I feel like no course would have given me this much satisfaction and happiness. I don't think if there was any chances of being exposed to industry in my course. Although curriculum was good. We had mock parliament, debate competitions, national and international seminars etc all in our college. We visited Indian parliament twice in 3 years, once during lok sabha session and once during rajya sabha session. Faculty is good. They always motivated the students and even during lock down period, they stayed in touch with the students regularly. The material they provided us range from books to university readings and I was satisfied with almost all of it. I don't find it appropriate to name one or few. I would like to thank them all.
The course curriculam of the course is satisfied because the one year syllabus divided into two semesters that helps us a lot. The college faculty is too good. Teachers are very intelligent and experienced. Every teacher has their own style of styding. They make us understand with the examples and related to current affairs and also solve the querries of the students.
I feel like political science course definitely need an update because it's an active subject, everyday their is a political event happening which is necessary to known and analyse about. While pursuing political science I don't think so we are provided enough industrial exposure. Anyways for political science subject industrial exposure isn't applicable. Faculties provided to us are very knowledgeable and experienced. Some faculty members are in the job for more than 10 years. I really like my international relations professor Dr. Amna Mirza she's a reputed name in delhi university.
My college believes in overall development of students. There are many societies in our college like drama, western and classical music and dance, singing,NCC,NSS, SPORTS,gardening and many more Our principal also support these societies. My college was also a winner of highest number of plants and trees in yr 2018 in overall Delhi University.
