Hostels are very nice and very hygienic. In one room 2 person live and room has enough space. Also you got two almirah, table, chair and bed in room. So there is very good in hostel life, also the hostels are very neat and clean as there is one sweeper per floor. So the bathroom and washroom are highly neat and clean. The hostels are very cheap like 1300 per month charge but you have to pay 5200 rupee one time when you pay the semester fee. Also the mess is very nice and hygiene is their first priority, There is not so fixed price for mess as they follow rule like hotel, like you have to pay on spot when you are going to eat. Also there is your own choice what you want to like to eat like veg, non veg etc.

There are three separate hostels. One for BS-MS boys, BS-MS girls and MSc+int PhD students respectively. The hostels in BS-MS are double shared and have access to drinking water, 24 hour electricity supply, elevators and toilets. Each room has adequate lighting with 24 hour high speed LAN connection. Meal quality is excellent with variety of options and barely leaves scope for complaint.
Yes, I am staying in hostel. The student hostels or rooms are kept neat and are maintained regularly also the hostel atmosphere is just great. The food in the canteen is same everywhere and there is shiv sagar canteen available for change of taste buds. It costs around Rs 15000 per semester which is okay for a city like Pune. You would get the best of all with state of art facilities there.
Yes, a hostel is compulsory in IISERs. No day scholars are allowed. The hostels are stunning fully furnished double-occupancy rooms. We are also provided with 2 table lamps, 2 fans, 2 tube lights, 2 study tables along with cupboards and lofts, 2 beds, a night lamp, 4 plug points for each occupant, also a small table like a bedside one. We have a nine-floor hostel with four lifts. Each floor has 40 rooms with a capacity of 80 people. There is a separate girl's hostel building. The Hostels are cleaned every day and are much better than IITs.
Hostel is compulsory for every student. The rooms are double sharing, with enough space for two people. The rooms have two single sized beds, one bed table, a huge compartmentalized cupboard with too much space, 2 chairs and 2 night lamps. Meals aren't included. For meals, there are college canteens and dining halls where students eat in their own volition. So cost of food varies from person to person. On an average, it would be around 5000 per month.
Yes.2 person sharing rooms in hostels. There are in total 3 hostels. One is for BS-MS boys, the other for PhD boys and the third one is for girls of both BS-MS and PhD stream. IISER Pune has one of the best hostels in India.
Hostel facilities are much good. We have 24×7 faster wifi, water (hot and cold), 2 beded rooms etc. The rooms are not crowded.one room carries only two persons. The only problem is with delay in problem solving by hostel management.
For the whole of 5 years the hostel room needs to be shared between 2 students. The newly built hostel building for UG students is a 9 floor building based on modern architecture and facilities like lifts, fire safety alarm, security and reception at entrance. Each floor is equipped with washing machines, water purifiers and well designed bathrooms. The rooms too are adequately spacious for 2 persons and are provided with sufficiently huge cupboards, lamps and high speed LAN connection.

All kinds of festivals are celebrated in the college. All kinds of state festivals are organized. And there was a mimamsa quiz. There are many types of clubs ex. karavaan, marathi club, etc. Many types of activities are carried out
Even though the PhD Students get less free time, there are various extra curriculars activities. Karavaan is the annual cultural festival, Mimamsa is the annual inter-collegiate quiz contest conducted in the campus. Inter-IISER Sports Meet is also a major event conducted.
I have a few friends from IISER Pune. Here are some of the points that they have shared from their experience.
