It's a academic is too good that is best for making a good doctor
Here the cultural events that is so much things that you enjoy your college life
There is too many sports game will be available for you

Dislikes

Grounds is too small for playing games.
Water purifier is not too much it's face difficulty
Rest room are not too much for the students

The college offers almost all medical degrees including MBBS and various postgraduate & postdoctorate courses. The college offers best education via practical learning through clinical rotations in various departments in the hospital.
The faculty is generally good and experienced with some who are excellent as professors. The faculty are helpful and interactive. They are also supportive of students who want to engage in some research work.
As RGKMCH is one of the top medical college of WB, there is sea of patients in the hospital. So, for med students the clinical exposure is of highest level. The infrastructure comprises of old and new buildings with scope of improvement.

Dislikes

As the campus is small there is no such happening campus life.
The campus is after all a public hospital so it lacks cleanliness.
As the hostel beds are limited, so it is difficult for each student to get hostel.

Admission:

As we know admission in government medical colleges are done through rank based counselling via multiple rounds. So I got admission in Rgkmch based on my AIR of 8107 in AIQ in open seat quota in 2023. I had placed RGKMCH in my preference list as it is one of the oldest medical institutions of India. It is located in a prime location in Kolkata. It has a good alumni network. It has a great patient load which offers a invaluable ground for med students to learn and practice there knowledge of medical science. The exam accepted as of 2024 is NEET-UG for undergraduate, NEET-PG for postgraduate, and NEET-SS for post doctorate.

Slight about MBBS

Likes

Academic of RGKMCH is overwhelming. Professor are much experienced so that u can't face any problem regarding academic.
Infrastructure of college is good .OPD, TRAUMA CENTRE & EMERGENCY are functional and are excellent.
Almost 9-10 fest occur in Rgkmch in a year.

Dislikes

Small campus of RGKMCH makes it very busiest and populated.
Except auditorium, no any ground is in Rgkmch.
Some hostel are far away from the college campus.

Admission:

I have gone through the college of Bihar, west bengal, uttar pradesh ,Delhi ,Mumbai,etc. in the counselling o f neet UG I got R G KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL of KOLKATA,WEST BENGAL.I have chosen this after good response from the student and my teacher about this college.

Likes

College follow course curriculumn according to university very precisely.
College infrastructure and each and every department of healthcare system is present.
Our college is known for biggest fest in east india.

Dislikes

There is no ground for sport.so we cannot easily play sport in our college for sports we depends others college ground.
Our hostel is not in our campus.we come college through walking 10 minutes .during rainy season its problemmetic.
In our campus free space is small but pateint crowd is very high .so alway college area like crowdy .

Admission:

For admission you should crack NEET exam which is all india entrance exam .cuttoff rank for our college is approx AIR 10 K general category.during admission you should verified your document during councelling process .

Rg kar medical college hostel, education and college life review

Likes

Quality of teaching, infrastructure,library, senior junior relationship
Professors teach very well. Quality of lectures provided are too good
In dissection enough cadavers are given for each group. No ragging happens.

Dislikes

First year girls hostel is a dormitory. Rooms are always better. Dormitory is dirty and not maintained. Bathrooms are also dirty.
Campus is small as it was a private college earlier
Patient load is much higher . Which is good and bad both.

Admission:

You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB. Offline admission is going to be very easy as seniors will be there to help you . Reservation is according to neet ug criteria. Seat is reserved for gen , gen EWS, OBC b , OBC a , sc , st. Cut off for gen was 14K in 2023

R.G.kar Medical college, The home for the Best Future Doctors.

Likes

The Faculty of almost every department is very helpulf and very experienced in their respective fields.
The Library and Auditorium are one of a kind.
The patient load is very good , so during internship it helps to see patients with a wide variety of conditions

Dislikes

There is no separation of hospital and college so, student's have no privacy during hospital hours.
As the patient load is huge and space is limited , it's a bit too crowded here.
There is no playground for students. So for sports we have to rent grounds fromother colleges.

Admission:

You need to qualify for the NEET UG exam. With an Air of around Rs 10000-13000 to get into this college. All details of admission are available on the MCI and WBMCC websites. The NEET exam is quite difficult, and the frequency is once a year. The Admission process could be made a bit simpler by the MCI by reducing the no. Of documents they need offline as we have already provided them online.

Our college has really nice and well maintained dermatology and Gastroenterology department
Annual College Festivals in R.g.kar medical College are really a thing to be proud of
It has a spacious library that has different reading sections.

Dislikes

No playgrounds are present inside campus
Our pre clinical subjects departments are a bit weak compared to other top medical colleges
Cleanliness is often found compromised in the ER and Trauma care centre

Admission:

Admission cut off for MBBS in 2020 was around 614. Applications can be done through state counselling. Reservation benefits are same as that o ther medical colleges.our college has additional reservation for students from Nepal.
