Ruia, college for my overall development

Likes

I liked how they renovated the canteen and made it hygienic
Also, the reading hall is big and allows us charging of our devices
I liked the faculty , it helps us in every way possible

Dislikes

I disliked the physics faculty, it doesn't understand need of students
I didn't like the fact that they never show us papers after the results
Also, they must improve the attendance taking way

Internships Opportunities:

I have worked with the courses that provide internship and they are pretty good . We may experience internship in third year and this will help to boost up your resume The stipend depends about how your work is and what duration you work for.

A tale of my graduation journey at Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College

Likes

Quality lab designed for optimum experimental experience.
Biometric system of attendance as well in some departments
Faculty expertise in both theory as well as practicals.

Dislikes

Post covid online learning experience could have been better.
Strict system of attendance, journal corrections often time consuming
Not enough flexibility to accommodate college mainstream seminars, webinars etc

Placement Experience:

After sem 6 , students are eligible for placement. Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TIFR internships etc offer placements . No of offers varies highly depending upon job market conditions. Highest package was 5 LPA and lowest around 3 LPA. Around 5 percent of students getting placement. My plans after BSc degree was MSc which I've already pursued.

Likes

College events UTSAV AAROHAN is really worth witnessing.
Computer labs, GYM, ground, other facilities and rooms are perftc fitting for college.

Dislikes

We have many restrictions in the college.
Events are great but then the custome is the disliked part.
Construction work is still going on since past 3 years I joined the college.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are available to us in the month of February till June start. We have interviews in January after winter break. Then january end we have our exams and then from February we start with our internship.

The instrumentation of the college is good
Multiple instruments are available so that every student gets hand on experience
students are been exposed to various research project which gives them enough amount iof skills since the degree level

Dislikes

The big instruments are available all the time
only one classroom is available hence lot of chaos and no proper time management
Syllabus too much hence not completed on time

The departemnt of Microbiology has good networking and has good contacts with various institue and industry . The opportunites are like BARC, ATREC, IIT- BOMBAY, HiMedia, SRL Diagnostic , ARI, Biogenome, FDA

They have several scholarship and freeship schemes
The campus life is something Ruia is known for.

Dislikes

The infrastructure should develop more in the departments.
Several amazing facilities are available but aren't working properly
Washrooms aren't always cleaned properly

The first thing I liked here is the teaching staff which is supportive in every aspect. Teachers here are experienced and help students in all the ways they can may it be related to studies or any other career related queries. Thanks to them for this
The Ruia NCC unit is one of the major highlights because of which I took admission here. It was established in 1948 since the NCC was started in India. It opens various career opportunities for students who want to pursue career in defence structure
The college supports it's students not only regarding curriculum but also in extra curricular activities. College has an Olympic level Shooting Range which is one of the best in Mumbai. Also, the sports guidance along with opportunities are the best.

Dislikes

The infrastructure was somewhat not maintained when I got admitted in the college but today the college has undergone reconstruction and is maintaining its unique architecture from the pre independence era along with new amenities for the new student
The non teaching staff here is somewhat rude to students. Not always do they believe behave the same but yes they are somewhat rude at times.
Some of the students here are sophisticated. They aren't inclusive and are judgy. These are very less but yes such people do exist

Internships Opportunities:

Having a conversation with the seniors, there are an impressive amount of internship opportunities provided by the departments. I don't know about the companies but yes there are various opportunities. If a student completes his NCC C certificate with an A grade, jobs are offered by Reliance, Taj, ITC, etc. As a chief security executive. Also a competitive exams guidance supports students to give UPSC CS exam and other exams after which they can be an example for others.

Internships Opportunities:

Not very good in placements and internships but prior batch got opportunities to work for companies like HDFC, TCS. Students with good CVs are most likely get selected by companies who visit every year. Interested students are supposed to contact respected teachers and should fill the form.
