The Truth About FACULTY OF LAW

Environment - this centre is placed in North campus, full of greenery and all the main colleges and office of DU are placed near.
Faculty - faculty here is well qualified and big names. For example belu gupta mam, who herself an ex-judge, sourabh Rana sir who cracked many exams

Dislikes

Water- no drinking water facility till our first year, but now they are providing water after students protested against them.
Wifi- no wifi facility till first year but now they are providing the wifi .

Faculty:

Faculty here in all the three centres are very good and many of them are even judges. But in our first year we didn't get teacher for contra law and then they provide a guest teacher in last days . Belu gupta mam is fantastic, she is an ex-judge, and is very sweet. Infact all the teachers are very good like kalpana sharma mam, saurabh Rana sir. Exams are difficult,in first year you have two 5 exams in each semester i.e. in 2 semesters, total 10 exams. Many students got backlogs in exams. Approx 30 students got backlog in contract law.

Likes

The university offers a rich experience of diversity with students from diverse background and interest. Since the colleges are close proximity with one another there is ample of opportunities to socialize and build connections.
The university also host different seminars regularly. There are also different societies that caters everyones need and dreams and provides a room for learning.

Dislikes

The teaching standards are something not upto to par. Most of the teachers communicate in hindi despite it being an english medium college.
The infrastructure also need improvements. Class amenities needs to be greatly improved. Like fans and cooler and ac if possible . The bathrooms are not fit fir such a respectable university

Faculty:

The student teacher ratio is quite contrast with more then the teacher can take . Making maintaining a close relationship with teacher a hard task. The teachers are not necessarily the best and sometimes lacking of quality. Teacher student interaction oten ends in the classroom itself

The crowd and the exposure you get here you get no where.
The college socities very active specially legal aid society

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is not sufficient and lacks proper library.
The teachers are not intereseted in teaching often involve in student politics.

Faculty:

The student-teacher ratio is very low, a class has 80 students so that is a problem in teaching. The faculty have good credentials but they seem disinterested in teaching often involve in student politics The teachers are interactive and approachable.

Broad alumni base which helps in getting comfortable to learn the process and scope after compmeting llb from faculty of law

Large strength of students enrolled into the college
Lack of proper drinking water facilities such as water cooler and purifiers

Faculty:

Faculty members are quite highly educated and knowledgeable very well familiar to various dimensions of law and provide proper guidance as to where should one pursuee as per their interests. Also faculty members are very much supportive while pursuing internships to help in managing attendance so that one's sitting in the examination

Delhi University's Law Faculty is awesome! The teachers there really know their stuff and help students understand law in a practical way. They make learning fun and interesting.
there are lots of chances for hands-on experience through things like mock trials and internships

Dislikes

While Delhi University's Faculty of Law has its strengths, it also faces challenges. Some students feel that the infrastructure could be better, with issues like overcrowded classrooms and limited resources
Additionally, there have been concerns raised about outdated teaching methods and a lack of practical exposure to real-world legal issues.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is very good in university there is no need of more teacher ,they have enough teacher to make u understand things in better way ! Also there is provision for guest faculty who are also very much qualified!! The approach which law faculty follow is similar to all foreign universities where they teach using case study of different cases of supreme court, High court. In faculty you can interact with them any time you want they are always available for you .

The faculty of this college has some of the most recognised names in it, including Padma Shri Prof. Upendra Baxi, Prof. Ved P. Nanda, Prof. M. P. Singh, Prof.(Dr.) Ved Kumari, Prof.(Dr.) Kamala Sankaran, Prof.(Dr.) Vandana, Prof.(Dr.) P. B. Pankaja, Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Pradhan Saxena, Prof.(Dr.) Anju V. Tikoo, Prof.(Dr.) Manju Arora Relan, Prof.(Dr.) Kiran Gupta, Prof.(Dr.) Raman Mittal, Prof.(Dr.) Sarabjit Kaur, among many other current and retired faculty members. The entire faculty of law has around 150 Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors. The average age of the faculty is from 35-50 having a great mixture of young and senior experienced teachers. The faculty members hold a great expertise and experience in their respective fields, with most of having holding Doctoral degrees. Many of them are erstwhile judicial magistrates and our Professor (Dr.) Ved Kumari has been the Chairperson of the Delhi Judicial Academy (DJA).
