Reservation: Since this is a private college so no reservation benefits. However scholarship exams exist which can provide respite. The admission process was very smooth. The college accepts relevant CAT, XAT and GMAT scores. I secured my shortlist after submitting my CAT score. Post filling up the online form available on the college website, during the month of January and submitting the required fees which was approxiimately around Rs. 2500, I receieved my shortlist for a written aptitude test. The topic was given on the spot and the duration of the written test was 30 minutes, which was to be completed in one sitting. After clearing the test, I received an online meeting link for a personal interview which lasted for 20 minutes. Normally, the institute conducts the interview and the written test at a designated centre, however the Covid-19 pandemic shifted the entire process online. All in all, it was a very smooth experience!

Finance: IMI Delhi is the best choice of all the options when it comes to Finance. A premium quality crowd opts for Finance at IMI Delhi and the main reason is the customized MBA program in Finance. Many companies of the Finance sector visit the campus for placements. Finance students also avail the best opportunities and guidance and have a higher level of security than Marketing students.
However, in case you have more than 2-3 years of work experience, IMI Delhi is not a suitable option. Although you may stand out among your batchmates, the companies visiting the campus are not aware of this and offer roles suitable for less experienced students only. So your work experience may not be credited here.

How can I get an admit into IMT Ghaziabad?
IMT Ghaziabad conducts counseling for admission. You need to appear in CAT/GMAT to be eligible for admission. The minimum cutoff required for admission is as follows.

On average, you will need a CAT score of around 85-90% and a GMAT score of around 650 in order to take admission. The selection procedure also comprises of GDPI rank.
If you don’t get admission through counseling, you can go to the institute and talk to the management or the admission cell directly. Never contact any broker or private career counselor for admission. If you have good grades, you can easily get admission at IMT Ghaziabad without any donation.

A minimum of 94%ile in CAT will help you convert IMT, Ghaziabad, and TAPMI based on your interview performance.

Is it worth leaving a Rs. 65K per month job to join IMT, Ghaziabad?
Leaving a job with such good pay is a very risky decision and should be considered only if it’s the top B School you are after. These include the top IIMS, XLRI, FMS, SP JAIN, or MDI. Giving up your high-paying job to join IMT Ghaziabad does not make sense. The ROI will not be worth the program considering the two-year opportunity loss of salary and high IMT fees.
Moreover, IMT Ghaziabad placements are quite restricted in the sense that if you are not among the top 100 students in a batch of 600 students, you will end up with an average package only. The companies visiting IMT Ghaziabad offer the MT position usually to freshers and not students with work experience. Considering all this I don’t think leaving your job for an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad is a wise decision.
Do people from NIT take admission in IMI Delhi and IMT Ghaziabad for their MBA?
People from NIT and IITs should definitely get admission to IMI Delhi or IMT Ghaziabad. Unlike the general misconception that people from ivy graduate colleges should go for the top PG colleges also, IMT and IMI are rather good choices. If an Institute helps you to build your career then the brand value hardly matters.
I have seen many people who after graduation from NIT and IITs join IMI and are glad to do so. My brother completed his graduation from DTU Delhi and joined IMI for MBA and claims that he was able to learn so many new things in the first 6 months. One of my friends also joined IMI after completing his Engineering from NIT Uttarakhand.
So what I actually mean is people from NIT and IIT can definitely pursue their MBA from IMI and IMT and won’t regret this decision.
What are the chances of clearing the waitlist in IMT Ghaziabad?
To predict the chances of clearing the IMT Ghaziabad waitlist, we need to compare it with colleges of similar levels. Some of them include SCMHRD, XIMB, IMI, Great lakes, etc. All these B Schools are Grades B.
- Candidates shortlisted in the first list of IMT have around 30% chances of getting shortlisted in an A grade school
- Candidates shortlisted in the first list of IMT have around 20% chances of getting shortlisted in B Grade schools like SCMHRD
