IMT Ghaziabad Placements 2023: Average Package: INR 17.35 LPA & Highest Package: INR 65.6 LPA

A lot regarding placement depends on the size of your batch. Batch size is an important factor because marketing companies mostly recruit a maximum of 3-4 candidates at a time, whereas finance companies generally recruit 7-8 people. However, IMT Ghaziabad is known for its marketing course and there are decent companies that come for recruitment. Whether having 20 months of IT experience will affect your chances at the placements or not depends on how you and your classmates perform on that particular day. Keep in mind that the requirements of companies have changed and many IT firms now recruit freshers, non-engineers, and non-IT background people as well. So, you never know what opportunities may be available to you.

A quick suggestion is not to panic and sit for a company that you wouldn't have considered under any other circumstances. Don't act desperate. With 12-24 months of work experience, you are in a good position and will have the opportunity to apply to most companies. So, you don't have to worry as much as the freshers or those with 3+ years of experience do.

Coming to the second part of your question, a package of 15 LPA and above is certain for those who have scored the highest percentile only. It’s not possible for B Schools to offer package roles to the entire batch to maintain a high average figure. So before joining a college for MBA you should analyze whether the package you will get will compensate for the hefty fees you pay.

IMT Ghaziabad placement reports tell a different story. When the batch was as big as 640, only around 10 people were unplaced. Now with a much smaller batch, I don’t think even these many students will lose chances of placements.

Moreover, even the greatest B Schools have a few students who fail to get placed. These include the top 3 IIMs as well. This is because of the general nature of B Schools and is technically not the institution’s fault. It’s because of the tough competence within a B School. 

The top B Schools are a hub of geniuses and if you are anywhere below excellent your journey inside the B School will be tough. The guidelines are tough and the professors only want perfect results. IMT ExP 2020-21 witnessed top recruiters including Accenture, Atos, Delhivery, Dr. Oatkers, Genpact, Infosys, Innover, JioMart Tata Trusts, EY, Logit One, Jio Mart, Logit One, Moglix, RBL, Wipro, Wiz Freight, Zetwerk, KPMG, Deloitte, HSBC, Mahindra among others. I can say with certainty that IMT Ghaziabad’s placement figures are highly inflated mainly because my own sister was a victim of the same. The placement committee portrays the inflated packages in different ways. The situation is worse at IMT Delhi. The students who join such colleges are mainly drawn because of the placement reports feeling wronged and rightly so.

IMT Ghaziabad’s summer placements witnesses most of the batch receiving stipends of around 15-20k only. Some students even have to go for unpaid internships. Most of the students get placed in start-ups only.

The final placements are all the more inflated with so many hidden variables that make it even impossible to identify the root cause of inflation. A major part of the batch receives an in-hand salary of around 60-65k only.

The new IIMs also have inflated placement figures but this problem is way more serious at private institutes like IMT, NMIMS, SIBM, and SCMHRD. The real average package offered at IMT Ghaziabad is around INR 10 LPA only. Many students are offered packages as low as 5-6 LPA while many remain unplaced.
