About Seemanta Engineering College
Seemanta Engineering College has been a pioneer of technical education for the tribal-dominated region at Mayurbhanj in Odisha. It has granted knowledge and excellence to North Orissa and the other adjoining states of West Bengal and Jharkhand. The institute got established in the year 1977 by the Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti which was founded by Late Shri Paresh Chandra Basa. It is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha and approved duly by AICTE, New Delhi and Government of Odisha. Financial assistance is provided to merit rankers and achievers in the form of scholarships which is based on certain criteria. 'Paresh Chandra Basa' Memorial Scholarships are made available to the students who are merit rank holders of O-JEE. Following are the details of the financial scholarship provided to O-JEE rank holding students per annum:
To B.Tech students:
- For students belonging to Mayurbhanj & Keonjhar, INR 30,000 is provided to those who secured rank from 01 to 2500.
- For all the other students who don’t belong to Mayurbhanj or Keonjhar and have secured rank from 01 to 4000, INR 20,000 is provided.
- From the rank of 4001 to 7000, the financial assistance of INR 10,000 is provided to the students.
To MCA students:
For all the other students seeking admission into the MCA course are provided with the following financial assistance irrespective of the OJEE rank:
- INR 22,000 for first-year students
- INR 20,000 for second-year students

- In our college as i am in first year whenever i got any doubt i resolve with asking teachers ans they also help if they know about it
- In our college there is rule of 75% attendance but if you have some issue then you can submit application to Hod and ask for leave even your 75% attendance is not there and you have some really issues they will allow to give you exam

- The first thing i disliked is you will get some language problem here for sure but after 1 months you can adjust here
- Second problem is here the market is away from college so if you want to go to market you have to go 5-6 km nearby bombay chauk

There is not such test from college that will allow to take admission you can get admission here after giving Jee or ojee i got here from ojee in 12th even you have 50% you can get here admission For admission here you can contact to teachers they will resolve your problems and will tell you how to take admission, this year only 4 months were there for each semester but hope we will get time from next year as our syllabus was started in mid September and we are giving exam of 2nd sem, come to college if you can come here and directly contact Rajeev sir for admission

If you want to talk about improvements then I would definitely want to see more cultural programs to be held in our college. I want to see more industrial visits for our students in a year and an exciting annual function in my last year. Admission here is easy and very smooth.

This seemanta engineering college is situated at jharpokhria, mayurbhanj about 35 km from headquarter of the mayurbhanj district BARIPAD.

The teachers are good and very much helpful. Wifi is the most successful feature of our college. Negative remarks are not in our college all positive things happening in our college.

The course was quite good & booming at that time. The focus was not that good on Practical Learning as the course mostly comprises of theoretical study. No research initiave was taken by the institute. The elective options were great like Artificial Intelligence, Wireless Networking etc.
