Being in lockdown for almost 2 years, the college didn't get a chance to organise in person face to face placement events. That being said, the college did organise online placement drives, which were successful with many students getting selected in different companies. Being freshers, the packages started from 2L per annum to 5L per annum. That being said I didn't find anything that I was interested in so I didn't join any of the companies.
There doesn't any company which comes in our college and even not any college in jammu except GCET. There is scheme known as udaan by j&k government under which students are recruited but that doesn't gives you more than 12k a month and that companies belong to non engineering fields.
The placement scenario is okayish in the college. Only a handful of companies visit the college campus. The recruiters usually look for students who are scoring above 60% and are possessing less than 2 backlogs. The recruitment process is usually smooth and the interviews aren't that much strenuous. Many students tend to opt out of joining, since the package offered is very menial and the amount of work to be done is on higher side of the spectrum.
Placememt, ahh. That is the only thing college lagged behind in. Only a couple of companies came in my time at the college. That too, these were not any high profile companies.
Now there is one bad point in every institution and in this institution, it is this, they don't have any structure or any particular placement cell that can provide you placement, you are on your own, there is no campus placement but there is one room saying placement cell but believe me it never opens and same is the case of internship no proper structure regarding this actually this college lacks exposure.
There were a lot of Companies in the computer science and the IT department. College does not provide an internship program in any semester. There is 45 days of industrial training at the start of the 6th semester. And at last, companies hires as per their process of entrance exams and interviews.
Placement and job opportunities are less, and the main focus is only on academics. Only a handful of companies visit, and that only if you are lucky enough. Internship opportunities are also not there, we have to arrange on our own.
Yes my college provide some sought of placement but companies which come here for placement are not as much famous in the industry. No my college doesn't provide any kind of internship as far my knowledge.
The placements and job opportunities have increased over the period of time.As it is a College which is managed by Charitable trust so there can be some issues as well. But overall now the college is changing its approach also with time and now companies are recruiting more students than in the past. Our college doesnot provide internship as it understands that industry experience is more needed than college experience to survive in modern world. We need to have some skill set with us before leaving the campus.
There will be no placement at all. Since there is udan scheme in j&k which recurit students at minimal wages like 12000 per month. This college does not have their own placement record. And there is no internship provided by the college u have to manage at Ur own and that without any stipend.
