Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital was formed with the aim of providing good quality education in all fields, be it technical or medical. It aims to pay special attention to the weaker sections of the society to make it an all-inclusive growth. It is located in Pondicherry and was established in the year 2006. The medical college and all the courses/degrees run by are recognized by Medical Council of India.

The Institute offers an undergraduate degree course in MBBS. SMVMCH also offers M.D. degree and M.S. degree courses at the postgraduate level.

Candidates applying for the courses have to take the form online from the official website of the institute or in person from the Institute, fill it up and send it before the deadline date,
Candidates will also have to apply for NEET examination and/or CET.
Candidates applying for the postgraduate course have to apply online through the official website of NEET PG conducted by National Board of Examination.
To apply for the undergraduate degree course, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible, while for Postgraduate courses, candidates must have a graduation degree in the relevant subject/course.
Admission into the undergraduate course will be based on NEET UG Scores conducted by CBSE or Common Entrance Examination (CET) conducted by the Puducherry Linguistic & Religious Minority Medical and Dental College Welfare Association.
Admission into the postgraduate course will be based on NEET PG Scores or CET conducted by the association.
Admission is done strictly on the basis of Merit in the entrance test.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital offers MBBS degree courses at the undergraduate level. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects: English, Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.

Candidates should not be below 17 years of age at the time of Application process. Blind (including color blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Admission is done on the basis of NEET UG Scores or CET Score. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates scores in NEET UG or CET.

Selection of candidates for admission to the MBBS course will be based on the merit list prepared by the Association on the basis of the entrance examination(s). The admission of the candidates will be provisional subject to the recognition of his/her qualifying CET.

Key Points for UG Admissions:

All SC/ST candidates are eligible for the relaxation of 10%.
For students belonging to SC/ST, the maximum number of appearances (including the first appearance) permitted to pass the CET is two and one for others.
The age will be reckoned as on December 31 of the current year. There is no upper age limit prescribed.
The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years except for those admitted against seats reserved for Non-Resident Indians.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Pondicherry offers Doctor of Medicine(M.D.) degree in 15 specializations and Master of Surgery(M.S.) degree in 5 specializations at the postgraduate level.

Candidates who have passed MBBS from any Medical college which is recognized by the medical council of India. Candidates should have completed his/her rotating internship for one year after passing the MBBS examination on or before April 30 are eligible to apply.

Necessary forms along with information brochure can be obtained in person on payment of INR 1,000 by cash or Demand Draft.
Candidates can also take the form online from the official website of the Institute
Fill it up and send it to the SMVMCH before the deadline, along with the demand draft of INR 1,000(in case of online form).
Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of “Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust” payable at Puducherry.
Candidates are required to paste recent colored passport size photograph in the size of 3.5x4.5cm.

College has an amazing library where you can sit and study till 9 at night. Postings are held everyday for six days a week and there is a good patient load
Regular weekly internal assessments are conducted. This makes sure that the topics studied well and if you get less than 50 percent in any exam, then they will ruin your life, and due to that frustration you will study.

Dislikes

Hostel rules are pathetic. Both for boys and girls. I am in girls hostel so i will speak on its behalf. You can not come and stay in your room in between classes, if you want to or if you are sick. You can not leave the campus for anything at anytime
General atmosphere is very back dated. Boys and girls should never be seen talking. If some staff sees you, they will click picture and send it to the authorities and they will suspend you from college!

Admission:

Eligibility is through neet examination. A person needs to appear neet, qualify it, apply for CENTAC (Pondicherry University website for MBBS), and then according to the marks, will be allotted a seat in any of the medical colleges that come under Pondicherry University. Time taken is usually more than the other states, I was in the COVID-19 batch, and they took around 3 months to finish their counseling and provide me with a college.

I wrote neet exam to enter this college. The application is to be submitted to the counselling authority of Puducherry which is centac and they only process all the allotment processes. Everything is good.

BY NEET 2019, Marks obtained in the NEET examinations conducted at central level(All State level medical entrance exams are replaced by one common central entrance examination). For AIIMS and JIPMER medical colleges, there used to be separate entrance examination but from 2020, NEET is the only entrance exam to join central government run medical institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER. Minimum 50% Marks in Senior Secondary Examination or Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology).

BY WRITING (CETPPMC) COMMON ENTRANCE TEXT FOR PONDICHERRY PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGES and by opting centralized counselling conducted for all private colleges. in counselling hall counselling was conducted based on rank wise manner and availlability of seats in each category. after opting seats should report in opted institute as early as possible.

I got to know about this college through my uncle who suggested this college to my dad when I was in my school. After my 12th class, I had to choose a college and I visited this college and a few others too. Since this college was also close to my hometown and also the fee range was quite affordable among the colleges that I visited, I opted this college.I attended a Common Entrance Exam in this college and got a rank of 88. After ranking, I was sent a letter stating that I can join in this institute and I met with the Administrative Officer to pay the donation fee and the fee for first year. Next thing I know, I was in the first year.
