Remarks :
As I said, it is the Best Private Medical College to study Medicine in Puducherry. Comparing other private colleges the college is best in all aspects. The only negative maybe that the college has Weekly tests and has few strict policy for female students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since its affiliated with Pondicherry University, the curriculum and exam structure are decided by the University and the college follows it. The curriculum again, is formulated by MCI and it's the same throughout India. 4.5 years + 1 year compulsory internship.
Placement Experience :
Yes, since its compulsory to complete internship, the college does provide it. Stipend is par with other medical colleges and the hands on provided is really good. The job opportunities post MBBS is the same regardless of what college you come out of.
College Events :
College Culturals - Once a year, celebrated as Mantra, a 3 day social event. Inter College Sports - Once a year, celebrated as Arena, conducts all sport activites for a duration of 2 to 3 weeks and has a presentation ceremony. National Conference - Once a year, conducted as SIMSCON, for 3 days around July with participants from all over the country. Also conducts Teachers day, Freshers day, Farewell and other minor events.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee is feasible comparing the quality of education and hands on it provides. The fee structure is designed by MCI and regulated. Hence the fee is comparatively the same throughout India. However, it is still slightly less and for the quality of education provided, it is worth it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Unfortunately, the college does not provide any sort of loan or scholarship since it's a private run one. The college is run by Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust and since it's a private, does not offer loan of any kind. However provides a cash prize for toppers every year.
Campus Life :
The best in the state. Labs are at state of the art, college has grounds and spends a considerable amount on sports every year. The college also has an active Music Band with all the equipments. The college supports extra curriculars.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes. The alumni does meet once in a year and it is definitely helpful. They have a website, elect the representatives every year. Every college student who passes out becomes an alumni member for lifetime as a default.
Admission :
I applied through Pondicherry state run CENTAC admission process with my +2 Mark's. Through ranking system, I got a seat at this college under General category in Government quota. Once approved, I went to the college to confirm my admission.
Faculty :
The best. Nothing less. Everyone does their job with complete involvement. Especially the first year faculty focus entirely on the basic subjects which form the core and since it's also difficult to clear, they concentrate more to pass the subject.
