MBBS was always my dream course. SMIMS has the highest faculty: student ratio as much as I have read about. All the faculties have specialization in their field, Mostly MD, DM, Ph.D., and also MBBS. We usually have 2 sessional exams, 1 pre-University and 1 University exam in a year, and many small formative assessments and tests throughout the year. It is quite easy to pass those exams if one is really dedicated to studies.
The medical commission of India is replaced by NMC and yes many updates and changes are brought in the syllabus amd curriculum. Before staarting with syllabus, we were given exposures to all the laboratories and also we had foundation class which was a new concept, we were basically taught about ethics of aa medicaal professionals and other things. All the faculties are very good.
It's a bit expensive but the kind of education which is given in this college so I think this is value for money and we have done an internship in our own hospital. It's the best hospital in Sikkim as well as has a good name in India. Our seniors are now working as doctors, lecturers, scientists in many parts of the world along they have been working as higher professionals and doing great in their field.
The fee structure is quite expensive, its different for different quotas and increases every year with a new batch of students. The fee structure also varies with every course.MBBS is afterall very expensive as compared to other courses.
Expensive, but not that much compared to other private medical colleges in India. In general quota, it's around 15 lakh per annum with hostel and fooding and others. Local state quota seats come with 7.5 lakhs per annum fees, N.E. quota comes with 11 lakh per annum fees.
The fee structure depends as to which quota you got your admission through. For students coming through Sikkim state qouta the fee as for 2018-19 is around 6lakh per year For North East quota and other general seats it is around 14lakh. For management quota it is about 26lakh. The fees is quite expensive but it really depends on your financial background.
