Dhruba Chand Halder College (DCH) was established in 1965 in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It was previously known as Dakshin Barasat College. The college is affiliated to University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

DCH College offers various programs such as B.A., B.Com, B.Sc. in Honours and BA, B.Com, B.Sc. in General in different specializations.

For admission in General degree courses, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in relevant streams from any recognised board.
For admission in Honours degree courses, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in relevant streams with 50% marks in aggregate & 45% marks in the relevant subject.
If the candidates have not studied the subject of specialization in the previous examination, then 55% marks in the related subject or 50% marks in aggregate.
Selection criteria is based on the merit of the qualifying examination, which is calculated with the aggregate of 4 best subjects and the subject of specialization.

DCH College offers Honours and General degree courses in B.A., B.Com and B.Sc. in different subjects of specialization.

The basic eligibility criteria to take admission in any General Under-Graduate course is to pass 10+2 in relevant stream from a recognised board. However, for the Honours courses, the candidates must have secured 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 in relevant stream with 45% marks in the subject of specialization.

When not studied the related subject in the qualifying exam, then aggregate of 50% marks is needed for eligibility. Candidates with 55% marks in the specialization subject with passing marks in aggregate can also apply.

Selection of the candidates in any of these courses is purely based on the merit of the qualifying examination which is calculated with best of four subjects and the subject of specialization.

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:

The candidates with a gap of more than 3 years from the year of passing the qualifying examination are not eligible to apply for admission.
Marks of Environment Science/ Environmental Studies/ Environmental Education are not considered in the calculated of Merit.
The SC/ ST candidates must have at least 40% marks in aggregate in 10+2 in relevant stream with 40% marks in the related subject to apply for admission.
The candidates awaiting result of the qualifying examination are eligible to apply on provisional basis.

Visit the official website and click on ‘Go to Admission Page’.
If you are Merit Listed, you will see link ‘Apply Now’ and if you are not, then you will see Total Merit List.
After clicking Apply Now, you will be redirected to Online Application Form.
Fill the required information carefully along with the course of choice.
Upload the passport size photograph within 30 kb and signature within 20 kb size.
Save the filled application form, check all the information before submitting it.
Print the Bank Challan and submit the Application fees to the Bank branch listed on the official website.
Your payment will be confirmed after 48 hours of submission of fees.
Take out the print out of Application Form, University Registration Form and Check List available at the Confirmation Page.
After submitting the Application Fees, visit the college with the above mentioned documents, proof of payment of fees and all the documents required.

Collage library is well organised and various books are available
Railway Station to collage road is very good.

Dislikes

The numbers of Classrooms is not enough.
Collage canteen is no so good , it needs more development

Admission:

Collage is closed to my House.and nearby railway station.A decent amount of fees is taken from our college. There is two main semester exam in a year. Exams are conducted in different colleges. You have to carry 30% marks to pass semester exams.

Admission:

College is close to my house and railway station. Fees structure of this College is not so high. College take admission based on student's higher secondary marks. It would be better if you carry 75% or above marks in higher secondary.

That college is not so far from my house so I choose this college. This college fee structure is also not so high. You can apply to this college based on your 12th marks. College select students based on their merit. It would be better if you have 80% marks on higher secondary.

Don't like college union and college lab material is not good and very short.
College is so back side of station .to reach the college very late.

There were a very big playground in our college

Our college course fees watch so expensive distinguish to another college because of we live in a a village site so this is very wrong to take the college fees so much

Admission:

I applied many colleges but I take admission in this college because the college is near to my house and my elder brother was studied in the college. No I didn't get any rejection from other colleges. My name where came in first list of the college so I take admission in the college. First of all I apply college for my cybercafe then many least came out from the college and in first least my name out and I take admission and I payment through online mode and I got admission. The eligibility criteria of admit in our college where anyone who passed higher secondary examination with 50% marks they can apply to the college.

Roads are not very good for students,teachers and people.
Near railway station's train timeing is not good.

Station to college road is bad especially in rainy season.
College canteen is required more development.

Admission:

I choose the college because I heard many good things about the college and it is close from where I live. College admitted students based on their Higher secondary mark. You should have 80% mark to confirm your admission. After applying for admission you have to wait till college released its merit list. Then document verification is done.

The college is nearby Dakshin Barasat Railway station.
College campus is pretty good. Natural environment is very good.

Dislikes

Station to College road is not so good specially during monsoon.
Canteen is not so good it requires improvement.

Admission:

To be frankly I choose the college because it was not so far from my house. And the college faculty is quite good. But the fees structure is slightly higher than its surrounding colleges. It took admission based on Higher secondary results.

Eligibility for this course is 12th standard with science background with the subject biology. For find the admission details You should go the college website, & you will get all the information. If you are a reserved candidate then You will get some benefits. The exams will conducted in semister wise. Admission process is very good and the website is very good, no problem will be occured.

I likes the teaching process in our college.
I likes the playground and pond site in our college.

Dislikes

In our college canteen is not good so i avoid canteen food .
The college is situated in a ruler area so we have to struggle to reached the college.

Admission:

To get admission in our college you have to pass 12th and every subject. There is a website of our college where we come to know about the updates of application from , application fees and application dates. The AC, ST get the facilities of the reservation category. I don't think there should any need for improvement.
