Students gets paid from the house surgency itself.25000 is the present stipend.It can increase in present years.After a year of house surgency,can write neet Pg.After Pg admission one can get around 60000 /- per month.We can continue study after 2or 3 year Pg studies like specialising in some fields.

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is for 1 year and it is done after completing fourth year. You will be posted under various departments and you will get to treat patients. Internship stipend is around 27000.You can also prepare for pg during this period.

Exploring Trivandrum Medical College - UG life

The campus life at the college is what it is to be lived . Its so vibrant and colorful with all sorts of curricular and co curricular activities. There are so many events in arts fest which is euphoria like JAM, Filmy Funda, ADZAP, Tom Dick and Harry
There are so many club activities in the college like dance club,music club,literary club,quiz club,queer club. The club activities doesnt even have a break its active through out the year and had a combined program this year called arrhythmia .

Dislikes

The course being so long for five and half years comes with lot of stress .Academic stress is the worst in the college. Dealing with patients make us so hard and their conditions becoming bad affect our emotions to the level that make us emotional.
Being a class of 250 or more when additional batches adds up the attention to each student in lecture class may be reduced .

Internships Opportunities:

We can do internship in the health centres and hospitals under Medical college trivandrum after passing out fourth year for one year . We will get stipend over 27000 rupees monthly . There are department wise postings and the work load during this period is a mess with limited number of holidays which may again stress us out. There can be 24 hr postings and all which can drain interns . But still this is the period where we truly enter the community as doctors so it would be emotionally satisfying to treat patients and make them better .

The college campus is so magnificent with its architecture it's facilities and is well equipped with faculties with years of experience in providing Medical Education .The institution comes under direct control of Directorate Medical Education.
The students were given complete freedom and weekly activities were conducted refreshing students from their hectic MBBS curriculum.The activities were conducted under control of a students union in a cheerful manner usually on the weekends

Dislikes

The toilets were not properly cleaned daily inside the campus.
There are many stray dogs which making it difficult for the students to freely roam around the college

Internships Opportunities:

After completing the 4 yrs of classroom education the students are permitted for the 1 year internship in which they are paid monthly about 29000.They have to work in all the departments mentioned in the MBBS curriculum within a year to be certified as the registered doctors

Dislikes

Poor connectivity around college campus and hospital.
Stray dogs are more common around college campus

Internships Opportunities:

There is one year internship programme after completing the course. The student will be rewarded with 25000 per month as stipend. The work includes both day and night shifts. Internship provides excellent clinical exposure.

This college give me excellent experience as expected.
The mentors guide us in right track and help us in learning.

Dislikes

The timing of college is not expected , the class starts at 8 am.
The class ends at 4 pm and in some days there may be extra classes.

Internships Opportunities:

After the four year college life the college provide house surgency of one year with stipends and take us to next level and give clinical experience this build a good experienced doctor. As our college have increased number of patients this give hig clinical experience.

The academics of our college is good with good professors
Good oppertunity for recreational activities and sports

Dislikes

Waste management is poor in the campus, and is a field for improvement
Infrastructure including wards and hostel are of old architecture

Intership oppertunites are provided within the college after completion of 4 yr degree, the interns are granded a monthly allowance of about 25000 for the work, even though the work is hectic it provides a good oppertunity for understanding modern medicine

The college provide enough facilities for an mbbs student. The faculties are very supportive in study related matters and they are very experienced individuals in this field. We are getting more than enough clinical exposure for our studies.
The infrastructure of the college is really nice and it gives a pleasant feeling whenever we go there. The quality of the student circle here is also great. College is in the centre of the city and hence connectivity is not at all an issue.

Dislikes

College doesn't have a proper waste management system the students are finding that very difficult to handle
College need to develop a bit more in terms of lecture halls, toilets and auditoriums considering the new nmc guidelines.

Internships Opportunities:

One year of internship is compulsory in the college. We get the opportunity to work as a medical practitioner in different departments of the hospital and it is a great opportunity in terms of clinical exposure.

Government medical college trivandrum is the first medical college in kerala. Also as it is located in the capital city all the new advancements in medicine is firstly implemented in our college and thus we can get exposed to very new aspects of medi
Our college has the highest patient load in our state.The patients are mainly from 3 southern districts of kerala and some parts of tamil nadu which exposes us to a wide variety of clinical cases which we can learn from those cases

Dislikes

The health care workers to patient ratio is very less , so there is a huge burden on the few doctors, nurses and other staffs in the hospital,which at times may cause a decrease in the quality of the health care provided to them
Our college campus which includes Medical College hospital, Sree chithra, RCC which makes heavy rush in the roads and ambulances get stuck in those blocks for hours. The only single road to all these blocka make the campus very complicated

Internships Opportunities:

We can work as junior doctors in our college itself for one year which is a compulsory internship and it provides a pay of ?25000 monthly . They also work in peripheral health centres as medical officers for a few months in the internship period

Academic life is very stressful and has an impact on your mental health.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship is in the hospital of the college. The work is very heavy and hectic. A stipend of 25000rs per month is given. Clinical skills are developed during the internship. Although most of the work is clerical in nature. Work hours are very erratic and can easily break many labour laws. We can easily expect to work 18 hrs a day with 48-hour shifts being very common. This hectic work may lead to health issues in the long run
