What students say about University of Southern Queensland

Likes

  • Overall, the course curriculum and academics were very satisfactory, well-designed, and, more importantly, well-defined.
  • The University of Southern Queensland offers early entry and headstart courses specifically for high school students, particularly those in year 11 and 12.
  • The USQ team then helps push you toward that pathway and get you ready for jobs.
  • Although USQs on-campus offers were very good, I preferred the quiet and more spacious living arrangements, so I chose to stay off-campus. However, I live only about 3km away from the uni.
  • They have a massive library, plenty of sporting facilities, and something particularly good is the help they offer.
  • Because USQ had the flexibility and resources available for a full-time working student like myself to successfully complete it.

Overview:

The University of Southern Queensland was the closest uni to my hometown that offered the astronomy course, the next closest was Canberra and I wasn't ready to move that far away from home. Other places like Griffith and UQ only offered physics degrees.

Fees:

The fees were structured around the semester where you pay from each course you undertake so whether that be 2, 3 or even 4 courses. The only other major fee is the amenities fees which cover cleaning, wifi, etc.

academic: 10/10
faculty: 10/10
infrastructure: 10/10
accomodation: 10/10

Overview:

I chose this university because of the proximity to my parents (same town), because it was cheaper than other schools, and because it has the highest graduate employment rate in the state. Also, the program I enrolled in looked awesome. And it is.

Fees:

The fees range from around $800 AUD to around $1000 AUD per subject. This seems slightly cheaper than other universities. There is also a student amenities fee that goes towards extracurricular activities, at around $135 per semester, which is compulsory.

My IELTS score is 6. Am I able to apply for a Bachelor in Engineering at your University?

L
Lagan Kapoor

Unfortunately, with an IELTS score of 6, you wouldn’t currently meet the English language proficiency requirements for a Bachelor of Engineering program at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). It would be best if you scored 6.5, with no score below 5.5 in any module. This is the most straightforward option to gain eligibility for USQ’s Bachelor of Engineering program.
