VIT Vellore BTech Tuition Fees
Biotechnology and Civil Engineering belong to Group A, while CSE belongs to Group B. Civil Engineering with L&T has a separate Group C fee. Both the branch and allotted category determine tuition.

MBA students pay ₹3,51,500 in the first year, including a refundable deposit. Second-year tuition is ₹3,48,500, with ₹5,500 extra for alumni and consolidated marksheet charges. MTech fees vary by branch.
Academic Deposit and Application Fee
The BTech academic caution deposit is paid once and is refundable under VIT's rules. VITEEE 2027 has a separate ₹1,450 application fee. Hostel charges are outside BTech tuition and the academic deposit.
For Group B Category 1, first-year tuition of ₹1,95,000 and the refundable ₹5,000 academic deposit total ₹2,00,000 before hostel for the 2026-27 intake.
VIT Vellore Hostel and Mess Fees
For first-year men in 2026-27, room and mess fees range from ₹1,57,800 for eight-sharing AC accommodation with vegetarian mess to ₹2,34,800 for two-sharing AC with special mess. For women, they range from ₹1,26,200 for four-sharing non-AC with vegetarian mess to ₹2,49,400 for a three-sharing apartment with special mess. Both add a one-time ₹15,000 hostel admission fee and a refundable ₹15,000 deposit.
The 2026-27 first-year hostel amounts cover the fall and winter semesters and include the stated laundry allowance. VIT says hostel fees can rise in later years. A 2027 entrant's room and mess allotment will set the actual charge.
VIT Scholarships and Fee Waivers
VITEEE ranks 1-10 qualify for a 100% tuition waiver, ranks 11-50 for 75%, ranks 51-100 for 50%, and ranks 101-500 for 25%, subject to the scholarship terms. The scheme covers the four-year BTech programme. Hostel, mess and deposits are separate.
For 2026-27, eligible BCA, BBA, BCom and other Science and Humanities applicants who completed Class 12 in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur or Tiruvannamalai could receive a ₹10,000 local-district scholarship. This is separate from BTech rank scholarships.
