How to Check Ranchi University Result 2026?
Students check the result by finding their roll number in the press release PDF. The steps are below.
- Open ranchiuniversity.ac.in and click Examination Results.
- Open the tab for the programme type, such as UG Results.
- Click the press release that matches the course, semester and session.
- Scroll to the college name and code in the PDF.
- Find the subject heading, then search the roll number under Pass or Promoted.
- Download the PDF and keep a copy for college records.
Example: A BA Economics student of S.K. Bage College, Kolebira opens the BA (FYUGP) Semester-VI PDF. The student finds college code 004, then the Economics list. The roll number in that list confirms the result.
Searching the PDF works faster on a phone. Most press releases run to many pages, so the roll number search saves time.
What the Ranchi University Press Release Shows?
The press release is a pass list, not a marksheet. It carries these details:
- Exam name, semester, session and the month the exam was held
- College code and college name
- Subject name for FYUGP and honours courses
- Roll numbers under Pass or Promoted
- Memo number and the Controller of Examinations' signature
The exam session and result year often differ. The BA (FYUGP) Semester-VI Exam 2025 was held in January 2026. Its result came out on May 16, 2026.
Subject-wise marks reach students through their college, as per previous practice. Students should collect the marksheet from the college office after the press release.
Pass Marks and Promotion Rules for FYUGP Students
The FYUGP regulations explain why some students see "Promoted" instead of "Pass". No student is held back in odd semesters. These are Semesters I, III, V and VII. Promotion after even semesters depends on papers cleared.
| Promotion Stage | Minimum Papers to Pass | Papers Counted |
|---|---|---|
| Semester-II to III | 9 | 12 (Semesters I and II) |
| Semester-IV to V | 18 | 24 (Semesters I to IV) |
| Semester-VI to VII | 26 | 34 (Semesters I to VI) |
A major theory paper carries 100 marks. The pass mark is 40, counting internal and end-semester marks together. A 75-mark skill paper needs 30 in the end-semester exam.
Important: A promoted student must still clear every failed paper before the degree is completed.
Ranchi University Result 2026 for FYUGP Sessions
FYUGP results come in a set order through the year. Arts, Science and Commerce usually come out within days of each other.
- Semester-I (Undergraduate Certificate): released April 1-2, 2026 for Sessions 2022-26 and 2024-28.
- Semester-II (Undergraduate Certificate): released April 6-11, 2026.
- Semester-VI (Session 2022-26): Commerce on May 7, Science on May 11 and Arts on May 16, 2026.
- Semester-III (Undergraduate Diploma, Session 2023-27): all three streams on September 24, 2026.
Subjects for each major are listed under Ranchi University courses and fees.
Roll Number Missing From the Result PDF
A roll number can be missing for several reasons. Students check each one before panicking.
- Wrong PDF: CBCS backlog, FYUGP and vocational results are separate files.
- Wrong session: Two sessions of one semester can share a release date.
- Wrong college block: The PDF is sorted by college code, not by name.
- Not in pass list: The student may have failed papers or have a withheld result.
For the last case, the student contacts the college principal. The college raises the matter with the Examination Department.
How to Apply for Scrutiny After the Result?
Students unhappy with their marks can apply for scrutiny through their college. The Examination Department issues a separate notice with the window and fee.
- Collect the marksheet from the college office.
- Fill the scrutiny form with the paper code and roll number.
- Pay the fee set in the notice for each paper.
- Submit the form at the college before the last date.
- Check the revised result in a later press release.
