After graduation, I was looking for an interesting master's course. When I learned about TISS from my school friend, the course curriculum sounded very interesting. Of the courses available at the Tuljapur campus, I was interested in Development Policy, Planning, and Practice (DPPP). The aspect of studying the analysis and framing of policies interested me. Here I could get to work with NGOs as well as state livelihoods missions. Here is my course, there are currently 23 students and per semester there are 4-5 teachers and 1-2 guest lecturers. On average, the faculty-student ratio is 1:25 The teachers are all Ph.D. holders and have long teaching experiences. They teach in classroom mode with the help of ppts and share study material on the student portal. We have a big library as well. Apart from them, the professors share some articles and video materials as well. Timely exams are followed. Difficulty level I would say 3/5.
I have chosen this course because this course is new and you will become a policy analyst. The faculty is good and the teaching method is good. Term exams are shorter for us because of COVID but you will get more time. Exams are regular and you will get more and more assignments.
There are opportunities of student exchange programs in various foreign institutes at UK, France, Australia etc. Scholarships and financial assistance are also provided to students belonging to economically weaker sections. The college does not offer much of placements at the end of 3 year ug programme because majority of students prefer higher studies.
It's is very well designed and updated as well as faculties update and change the syllabus accordingly to the current affairs. Course structure is well designed in such that you get 3 months rural field exposure and one month in Urban in any NGO. Faculties are good.
The program fee is about ?80,000 per semester. So, in one year, the course fee is around ?1,50,000.Fees can be paid through cash, cheque and online transfer. There's no need to pay extra to secure the admission. You just have to admit during the allotted time. If not, wait listed candidates will be taken in place of you. The college give us a good and transparent the fee-breakdown
