About Assam Women's University
Assam Women's University (AWU), established in 2013, is a public women's university that provides courses at the UG, PG, and Diploma level to eligible candidates. Created by the Assam Women's University Act, 2013, the institute was the first-ever women's college to be set up in Assam and has also been recognized by the UGC. The various courses offered at the UG level include BA and BPT, with a duration of three years. For PG programs, the college offers an MA with eight specializations, M.Sc. in Fashion Design and Technology, MCA, MBA, MTTM as well as an MLIS course.
Admission to all the UG as well as the PG courses is made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the university itself. For the MBA and MA programs, a group discussion and a personal interview are taken in addition to the written test conducted for admissions. Apart from this, the university also provides diploma courses in Computer Applications, Fashion Integration Apparel, and Jewellery Design. Lastly, the institute provides many different facilities for the well-being of its students.

Apart from the abovabove-mentionedrses, the University also offers two year postgraduate courses namely MLIS (Master of Library and information Science), MTTM (Master of Tourism and travel Management) and MFDT (Master of Fashion Design and Technology). Many Diploma programmes are also offered by the college.

AWU Assam Admissions
The university provides an offline mode of the application procedure for which candidates must download the form from the official website. The form needs to be submitted along with the required documents through the post or in person. The payment of the application fee needs to be done through the Bank Challan.

They conduct entrance examination every year. 100 students are eligible for the entrance examination based on Higher secondary passing marks. Out of 100 , 35 to 36 students are selected. The question paper is of moderate to difficult level.

The course duration is of 3 years. College offers various facilities such as good canteen, auditorium, huge library, laboratories and art galleries. I used all these resources and gained my skills. The theory and practical exams conducted by the college every semester.

The examinations were clasped at the verge of each semester. Surprise tests were also scheduled by teachers at regular duration apart from the internal analysis.

Master of Computer Applications or MCA is a post graduate professional program which has the duration of 2 years. The course follows the semester system. The days are filled with lots of learning and practicals. The exams are also organized efficiently.

The exam structure and the curriculum is pretty extensive but at the same time very flexible and does not take a toll on the students. It is just like any other MBA (finance) course the only thing that is different is the focus on the realistic approach.
