Chennai Mathematical Institute is a centre of excellence for teaching and research in the mathematical sciences. Founded in 1989 as part of the SPIC Science Foundation, it has been an autonomous institute since 1996.

Admission to Chennai Mathematical Institute is based on the marks scored in the entrance test conducted by the university. For PG and Ph.D. courses, eligible candidates need to appear in the entrance test and personal interview.
A mechanism is followed in order to ensure reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Physically Challenged (PC) categories as per the policy of the Government of India (GoI).

The duration period for each of the courses are 3 years. The total number of seats available are 20-30 seats for each courses.
In order to seek admission, students must have studied and passed 10+2 level or equivalent in relevant discipline. The eligible candidates are then required to appear in an entrance test conducted by the university.
Students with exceptionally good performance in National Science Olympiads may be exempted from writing the entrance examination at the discretion of the Admissions Committee

At postgraduate level, CMI offers Master of Science (M.Sc) in various specializations such as Mathematics, Application of Mathematics and Computer Science for a duration period of 2 years each. The intake capacity varies from 20-30 seats.

I prepared for the exam exclusively and was learning maths, the exam was only maths based and required syllabus was till 12th. You can visit the website CMI. ac. in and follow the simple procedure there. Learning Olympiad maths can also be quite helpful.
I have got admission into CMI and currently pursuing Bachelor's in Mathematics. Research is the most interesting thing which made me to choose this college over an another Institute i.e. IIIT Allahabad.
I got admission through the entrance exam held by CMI every year. The admission process is very simple. One has to appear for its entrance exam and based on the score in the exam, some students are selected for admission. Sometimes an interview may happen after the entrance exam and before the admission is done.
I have taken admission into Chennai Mathematical and currently pursuing Bachelors in Mathematics. Research is the most interesting thing which made me choose this college over another Institute i.e., Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.
CMI conducts an entrance exam for the students to get into CMI. It is conducted every year on 15th March (whatever the day is). The test consists of both MCQ and Subjective type questions. Each year about 40-50 students are selected in B.Sc Course to get into CMI.
I appeared in the CMI Entrance test on 15-May-2019 in which I was selected for admission into this institute. Later on I received a mail regarding fee waiver. I applied for the same and as the documents were verified, I was selected for 50% fee waiver.
