Aspirants can apply through the university’s admission portal (eadmission.suniv.ac.in/phd) from Nov 28 (12 Noon) to Dec 26, 2024 (11 PM). The last date to submit the hardcopy of the filled-in application form along with the relavant documents at the university is Dec 31, 2024 (5 PM). The list of valid applicants will be released on Jan 9, 2025. Further, the selected applicants can download their Admit Cards for attending Viva-Voce from Jan 15 and the Viva-Voce is scheduled on Jan 17, 2025. Sambalpur University offers various courses at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as at Doctoral level. PG courses are offered both as regular and self-financing courses under a number of specializations. Various courses in Technology are also offered through Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT). Admission to all the courses except for B.Tech.,offered at Sambalpur University are through the Entrance Test. - The minimum eligibility for applying in Ph.D. is a Master’s degree with 55% marks in it.
- The selection will be made on written test and the csndidates qualifying the written test will be called for the viva voce.
- Under regular courses, for applying in M.A., M.Sc., MPA, M.A./M.Sc., M.L.I.Sc. and L.L.M. the candidate must have done graduation with 45% marks with the relevant subjects and in the relevant discipline.
- Under self financing courses, for applying in M.A, M.Sc., MSW, M.Tech. and M.B.A., the candidate should have a degree of graduation in the related field with 45% marks.
- The candidate will be given admission under self financing and regular both, on the basis of Entrance test and the academic record.
- Under MBA, the candidate will be given exemption from entrance test and will be taken into consideration on the basis of marks in MAT. Then the marks in MAT exam/Entrance Test and the academic record will become the basis of selection.
Sambalpur University PG Regular courses Admission 2024
Sambalpur University offers M.A., M.Sc., MPA, M.A./M.Sc., M.L.I.Sc. and L.L.M. at the postgraduate level. All the PG level courses are for a duration of two years.
The M.A. course is offered with seven different specialization subjects, the M.Sc. course is offered with seven different specialization subjects and the M.A./M.Sc. course is offered with four different specialization subjects. The minimum eligibility for all the masters courses is a pass in graduation in the respective field of study with the candidate having at least 45% marks, except for LLM under which the candidate must have done Graduation in Law under 5 year integrated LLB Course/3 year LL.B course.
Selection
Selection for admission into different Courses shall be done through Written Entrance Test (with coding and decoding system), and Career marks weightage to which should be given as follows:

Key Note:
- Any graduate with required percentage can appy to Anthropology course, but the candidates with bachelor’s in Anthropology will be given preference at the time of admission.
- Candidates with Home Science as Honours or Pass Subject in graduation will be given preference at the time of admission.
- For MBA, the candidate will be admitted to the college based on MAT score and if the candidate has not given MAT exam then on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the university.
- The absence of a candidate from the entrance exam will be considered his disqualification from the admission.

Sambalpur University, apart from the regular PG courses, also offers various self-financing courses at the postgraduate level which includes M.A, M.Sc., MSW, M.Tech. and M.B.A. degrees.

- Under MSW, the in – service candidates will be given a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks.
- Under MBA Executive, for each completed year of experience, 3 marks shall be given to the candidate to a maximum of 30 marks i.e 3 marks per year for a maximum of 10 years.
Sambalpur University M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2024
Sambalpur University offers a one-year M.Phil course in 17 different specializations whereas, Ph.D. course is offered for the duration of three years under 24 departments. Basic eligibility is a pass in the relevant Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate. Admission is offered on the basis of marks in the Entrance Test followed by Viva-Voce and Interview rounds.
- Candidates with Master’s degree in Life Science or allied subject are eligible for admission to M.Phil (Life Science).
- Candidates with Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Technology or Science-Based subject are eligible for admission to M.Phil (Environmental Science).
- Master degree holders in the stream of Political Science are also eligible for admission to M.Phil (Public Administration).
- Subject to the minimum eligibility criteria, MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc (CSE/ IT) degree holders are also eligible for admission to M.Phil (Computer Science).
- Those students who are pursuing Diploma in Sambalpur Studies can apply for admission to M.Phil in English, Odia, History, Sociology and Anthropology provided they have fulfilled the minimum eligibility criteria followed by an entrance test. There is no bar in the qualifying marks for SC/ ST categories.
Exemption from Ph.D. Entrance Test
- UGC/ CSIR NET/ GATE/ ICAR/ ICMR qualified candidates.
- Those who have passed M.Tech/ M.E or M.Phil from Sambalpur University or any other university provided that they have secured admission in these courses through entrance test.

Sambal University also offers MBA, PG Diploma and Certificate course under Distance Education On-Campus courses. The MBA course and the certificate course is offered for a duration of three years. The one year PG DIploma course is offered with nine different specialization subjects.

Sambalpur University Distance Education MBA, MCA and other courses Admission 2024
Sambalpur University also offers various courses as Distance Education off-campus courses. These courses include B.A. (Pass and Hons.) with four different specializations as well as B.Com (Pass and Hons.) and B.C.A. degrees. All these UG level courses are for a duration of three years.
At the PG level, the University offers M.B.A , M.C.A. (regular and lateral entry) and PG diploma course in Computer Applications. The M.B.A. course is offered for a duration of two years. The M.C.A. course through regular entry is for a duration of three years, whereas, M.C.A. through lateral entry is for a duration of two years. The PG Diploma course is offered for a duration of one year.
Admission to all these courses are based on the merit of the candidates in the qualifying examination. No entrance tests are conducted for these courses generally.

- behaviour of the staff member i so rude. They are not cooperative at all. someone has to wait hours to solve a problem

I have applied for other colleges but I got tution fees waiver scheme in samblpur university and this is the reason due to fees vwaiver i pursed btech from this college. No, I havent been rejected from any of the college but due to TFW college i prefered this college. TO take admiison one must have to pass the JEE Mains with a flying colours . JEE and OJEE exam are the accepted exam in our college . cutt of is 75%ile .

I had applied in other colleges also but i like this college faculty and teaching method thatswhy I opt for this college. Yes due to my low percentage in 12th board I was not selected in big universities.

I had got a seat at CET in Bhubaneswar in the Textile Engineering branch but I was opting for CSE only. So I chose this college. I also made my admission through spot admission. Students can get admission through either JEE MAIN or OJEE with a minimum of 50-60 percentile marks.

- The atmosphere of the College is very comfortable
- There is a big library inside the campus

- College buildings are under construction

I got the confirmation in my first try. They didn't get a chance to reject my admission. Admission process is very convenient, first you have to apply online. For Bachelors you have to 12th passed out from the recognized board And for Masters you have to get a Bachelprs degree from the recognized board

- Washroom , cleanliness in classroom , lack of dustbin inside campus , availability of RO drinking water
Admission:
Admission into Ispat College , Rourkela is through your 12th marks basis done by Sams (Student administration management system) . Sams allot the colleges based on the 12th marks . I opted for ispat autonomous college because it is walking distance from my house and they provide the same curriculum any private institution provides . The teachers are very good and the education is best there. This led me to keep this college at my 1st option.

- The college is very good, it is awesome, it is a lot of fun and the BCA course is also taught very well and it is reasonable as per the fees

- There are some flaws in every college but this college is much better than the rest

Admission process: Firstly, seat booking is done, only after that admission is done. As per all other colleges, this college is also correct as per the fees. There are other colleges where you can study, it is not true that this college is the best.

I have applied Municipal college, Rourkela and in got the college from the first selection...I didn't get the rejection from any college as the selection procedure is of merti basis as it was close to my residence so I went to that college

- The college infrastructure is guiet excellent that it provides positive thinking and supports the students emotionallly
- The campus is a huge place that every students can sit in leisure freely and study their including libraries, counters,benches to sit in the college
Dislikes
- Sports activities are ignored.the college sports ground is not maintained properly
- Some of the classrooms are not upgrades and have no fans and lights

I applied in gangadhar meher college sambalpur, in laxminarayan college jharsuguda and in government autonomous college Rourkela,and this was my 1st choice and I got my seat here so I didn't try for other colleges and I was not rejected from any other colleges. The admission processin government autonomous college Rourkela is quite simple and helpful from the professors, to get admission in BSc in computer science course I secured 86% in my 12th and got the selected in the first round.I filled my form for the course online for 500 to apply. As I'm a genral student so I didn't get any reservations. As a Student my opinion for the admission process for the Students who are coming from far, the college should use online admission process for them.

- Teachers are very good in very aspects as per my thought.
- Campus was also good and clean. New buildings are also getting constructed.
Dislikes
- We don't have any canteen in the campus.
- Teachers should give more attention to the latecomers.
Admission:
I had applied for 2 to 3 colleges at the time of my B.com but I wanted to go to municipal college as I had done my 12th from that college only and I know it is good for commerce and it was challenging for me as the cut off mark was high and I want to do a honours in management but I got selected in 3rd round.

Yes, Sambalpur University releases its merit list before providing admissions to the students. The merit lists are released for UG, PG and Doctorate level courses.
