TISS Mumbai Post Matric Scholarship

TISS Mumbai Post Matric Scholarship consists of Maintenance Allowance, Reimbursement of Non-refundable Compulsory Fee, Book Bank facility and other allowances. The details for the same are as follows:

Eligibility
  • Applicant must be Bonafied / Registered students in TISS Campuses
  • Student must be SC / ST / OBC (NC) Category
  • Valid Income Certificate issued for Immediate previous Financial Year
Components
  • Maintenance Allowance of INR 380 to INR 1,200 per month for Hostellers and INR 230 to INR 550 per month for day Scholar for 10 Months in a Year
  • Study Tour Charges and Thesis Typing / Printing charges of INR 1,600
  • Book Allowance amounting to INR 1,200 for Correspondence Courses
  • Book Bank facility for Specified courses ranging from INR 2,400 to INR 7,500

TISS Mumbai Taksheel Foundation Merit Scholarship

TISS Mumbai Taksheel Foundation Merit Scholarship is an Application based Scholarship, available for School of Social Work students. The details are as follows:

  • Total Family Income of Student not exceeding INR 3 Lakhs per annum (including Immediate Family Members).
  • Minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 60% and above in UG is required.
  • Students are required to maintain a minimum CGPA score of 6.0 or 60% and above in every preceding Semester and 75% Attendance in each semester in all the courses.
  • Students should not have any arrears (failures) in any subject, in any semester and the Students must not engage in any behaviours of Indiscipline leading to penal action by the Institution.

TISS Mumbai Cognizant Foundation Merit Fellowship

TISS Mumbai Cognizant Foundation Merit Fellowship is an Application based Scholarship, available for Second year students of MA in Social Work and MA in Development Studies only. INR 60,000 per year is awarded to the selected students. The details for the same are as follows:

  • Total Family Income of Student not exceeding INR 5 Lakhs per annum.
  • Candidates must have a minimum CGPA in UG of 6.0 or 60% and above.
  • Students are required to have a minimum CGPA score of 6.0 or 60% and above in first & second semester of PG education 
  • Students must maintain 75% Attendance in each semester in all the courses.
  • Students should not have any arrears (failures) in any subject, in any of the previous semesters and the Students must not engage in any behaviours of Indiscipline leading to penal action by the Institution.

TISS Mumbai Foundation Aid

TISS Mumbai offers Application-based Allana Foundation Aid for Muslim Minorities, Help the Blind Foundation, Indiabulls Foundation and JM Financial Foundation-Scholarships under CSR to its students. The details are tabulated below:

Allana Foundation aid for Muslim Minorities
  • Annual Family Income from all sources should not be above INR 6 Lakhs.
  • Students should not have any arrears (failures) in any subject, in any of the previous semesters
  • Maintain a minimum attendance of 75%
  • Students must not have indulged in any acts of indiscipline resulting in penal action by the Institution authorities
Help the Blind Foundation
  • Only available for Visually Impaired Students
  • Graduation Marks should be 60% and above
  • Family Income should not exceed 3 Lakhs
Indiabulls Foundation
  • Must be less than 25 Years
  • Must belong to a Family who holds priority Household or Antyoday Anna Yojana ration card
  • Must belong to a family who consumes less than 200 units of electricity per month.

TISS Mumbai JM Financial Foundation - Scholarships under CSR

TISS Mumbai JM Financial Foundation - Scholarships under CSR is an Application-based Scholarship. The Scholarship is provided to students from courses such as:

  1. Master of Arts in Social Work (Community Organisation and Development Practice - CODP)
  2. Master of Arts in Social Work (Dalit & Tribal Studies and Action - DTSA)
  3. Masters of Arts in Social Work in Public Health (PH)
  4. Masters of Arts in Social Work (Women-Centred Practice - WCP)
  5. Master of Arts in (Social Entrepreneurship - SE)
  6. Master of Arts in Development Studies (DS)
  7. Masters in Education. (Edu)

The eligibility criteria for the Scholarship is as follows:

TISS Mumbai Tata Trust Scholarship is an Application-based Scholarship available to the Students of the School of Social Work, School of Management & Labour Studies and School of Health Systems Studies. The eligibility criteria for the Scholarship is given below:

  • Students with an Annual Family Income of INR 4.51 Lakhs and more are not eligible for Student Aid (SA).
  • Minimum CGPA of 6.0 is required with a minimum attendance of 75% in each semester in all courses.
  • Students should not have any arrears (failures) in any subject, in any semester and the Students must not engage in any behaviours of Indiscipline leading to penal action by the Institution.

Ques. Is there any Financial Support from TISS Mumbai?

Ans. TISS Mumbai has Upfront Provisional Student Aid for its students. The eligibility criteria for the Student Aid is as follows:

  • Students whose Parents’/Self annual income is less than INR 1 Lakh during the previous Financial Year are eligible to get Upfront Provisional Student Aid of INR 12,000/- towards Tuition Fee at the time of admission, subject to availability of funds.
  • To confirm the Upfront Provisional Student Aid, the Students are mandated to apply for the Student Aid along with the Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority during the application process invited for financial support by the Students’ Affairs Office.

Ques. What are the Documents required for Post Matric and other Scholarships and Fellowships?

Ans. The Documents required for Post Matric and other Scholarships and Fellowships are as follows:

  1. Scheduled Caste Certificate (for SC student only) (issued by District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ Tehsildar)
  2. Scheduled Tribe Certificate (for ST student only) (issued by District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ Tehsildar)
  3. OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (for OBC(NC) student only)
  4. (issued by District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ Tehsildar)
  5. Income Certificate (issued by Tehsildar/BDO/ District Magistrate/District Collector)
  6. Attested Mark sheets from Std. 10th Onwards

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fees at the beginning of the course are shared. It remains the same for the whole course. We have varying fees. 32k for the first sem, 30K for the second, around 48k for the third, and 42k for the final. The first two sem were offline so only college fees and no hostel fees. The last two semesters were in offline mode so per semester 31k for dining and hostel charges. There is a student scholarship from the institute for the poor and needy students where 50% of the tuition fees is relaxed. I got it one semester. The name is Student Financial Aid. The SC/ST candidates have no fees to pay. There is another govt. scholarships like GOPMI (govt. post metric scholarship) etc. The course offers 100% campus placement. The average is 6-6.5lpa

The fee structure is around 38,000 per semester in Masw and it begins from that then it keeps on reducing every semester but for some it's high and for some it's low. there was a just hike in the food charges and yes the college does provide student aid and they help us in connecting with government scholarships.

The fee for the course is very minimum. Even if you will not pay the fee you will allow for the exam because this is Social Science College. And for the fee, you will be supported by the college with their financial aid if your father's income is less than 4lakh per year. After this, you will get a good job in NGO or in CSR
